Hi new guy here. I just installed an EVGA x299 Dark and I have a 7980xe installed. I have the cores in the bios set to 45x18. The bios is say ing my cpu voltage is 1.344v. I moved over to the Dark from a Rampage VI Apex and at 45x18 my voltage was only 1.20v. I tried setting it to that on the Dark and it would not boot so I went over to the other bios and set it to 1.25v and it also would not boot. Anyway I reset the bios and it's back to 1.344v. Just sems kind of a high voltage for not very high clocks. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried manually setting the voltage to say 1.30?  Sounds like you're using auto.  If so, it typically is on the high side.  They set it up that way to make sure even the bad silicon chips will run stable.  If you get a decent chip, even halfway decent, you usually don't need the amount of voltage "Auto" sets.

If you know your stock voltage, you could also try an offset voltage.  That way it will lower itself when there's no load on the chip.

Read this section - They are showing a low end of 1.25v BUT it also depends on the CPU

Did you confirm the reported voltage with a meter or just go off what the bios reported on the Asus board?
