Hey guys,
First computer build and I ran into a hiccup I think. Got the 240 CLC, installed no issues, rad fans hooked up (no issues), but the connector to mobo is a 3 prong and the mobo only has 4 prong. Am I missing something here? I have been told that it can be put into the CPU_FAN pin on mobo and just slot it in without the ground. That seems sketchy to me. Any ideas?

It's fine to plug a 3 pin into a 4 pin connector. The 4th pin is the PWM signal wire to control PWM fans.

    That's absolutely correct.

In the Z370 FTW manual it states "This motherboard line only has 4-pin fan headers, which are backwards compatible with 3-pin fan connectors." Perhaps the Gigabyte manual writers could follow EVGA's lead on this and make it easier for those doing their first build, like the OP.
