is there an AM4 retention clamp / backplate for the CLC 280?  If so is it necessary or can the AM3 mount be used on an asus crosshair VI hero?  

i7-4820k @ 4.6ghz

    At this time, the AM4 bracket should be available to ship globally upon request.

    As of 5/14/2017 All New Retail CLC coolers should now have a AM4 bracket in the box.
