Alphacool is now doing a full block for 1080 classified

ETA is about 3 weeks away; when its released you can find it on the alphacool website with product description code: Eiswolf GPX-N 1080pro-M05

The block even has an integrated waterpump of its own to overcome restriction; it has tested as the "best performing" block on the market even better than EK blocks (this is partly due to the overly restricted nature however this is NOT a problem due to the integrated pump inside the block)  this is the first waterblock ever to actually feature its own integrated pump.

I can't wait to add this block to my EK loop and get my classified under water :-)

Thank you alphacool for saving us :-)

Here is a "teaser" picture of a drawing from the manual which will accompany the Classified 1080 block:

can we get a sticky on this please? (considering all the disappointment everyone expressed at lack of waterblock support for classified this round; alpha cool has saved us) so lets make sure we make it worth their while :-)

    What?  a built-in pump?

    Are these people crazy?

Can we please just have a waterblock so we can integrate a card into a custom loop?

    sigh...

I guess once alphacool comes out with this maybe it will inspire others to come out with better/competing products.

its not crazy, it will plug into your existing water loop exactly the same as any other block would.  The water pump gives EXTRA performance.  Better than anything any other company can currently offer.

If it was as easy as that to get the EK 780 block to fit propery (with no VRM/memory spacing problems) then EK would say so in email.

I'd be very cautious of overheating VRM or other possible shorting problems fitting the 780 block onto 1080.

Moreover even if you do manage to order in enough different kinds of screws until you find ones that will fit without damaging threads or being "too loose" you still have the worry about spacing.

I'd never use a universal waterblock if there was an option for a full coverage block.

I need to purchase another radiator first before installing the wb. As soon as i got numbers i will post them here.

It took like 3-4 weeks. The had some small problems because the card is that big. Keep in mind that they had to ship the card back from germany to austria so that takes 3-4 days. That said it took them maybe 2-3 weeks to scan the card.
I got my card back at the beginning of october and my waterblock arrived 2-3 weeks ago. Sorry for those non exact numbers. I can't remember all the details.

That's a nice deal Profix! Let us know how you like it. I'm not sure I like the idea of an internal pump. That would be the weak link, and I would hope you could by pass or pump through with a card pump failure. Then again I'm no expert.

That will not be a problem for me bacause i use an  alphacool eisbaer 280mm AIO CPU Cooler so i can put those two systems in one loop.
