I am within range of my build that i have been purchasing for about 3-4 months. Got a lot of great deals from Newegg. I am a tad nervous that i might have DOA stuff which i know happens. But thats why i went with EVGA for my products. I am still waiting to purchase a graphic card and storage to complete the build.

Phanteks Evolv ATX (Tempered Glass) (Black)
Intel i7 6700K (Cooled with a EVGA CLC 120)
EVGA Z170 Classified K
G.Skill Trident Z (8GB x 2) (3000Mhz)
-----Graphic Card-----
-----Storage-----
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3
LG 27" IPS Gaming Monitor (1080P @ 75Hz)
Microsoft Windows 7 64Bit (Home Premium)

The storage setup i will be doing is something people don't believe in that much. My operating system will be on a 2TB WD Black. While DCS World 2.0 will be on a 1TB SSD and Steam will be on another SSD probably 1TB. I am happy with the longer windows load time never really bothered me. Want faster load times with SSD.

For graphics card i am looking into the GTX1070 ICX

I would advocate to ignore HDDs for system drives until i dropped dead. The files on it will be required for things you use on other drives, and the random write/read and seek times are abysmal. It will bottleneck your modern real-time experience you paid so much to expect. SSDs can be partitioned without risk, and at 1TB the life expectancy is nothing to worry about. I use my slower, smaller one for OS, Steam, and minor-sized games.

You could be a boss and get 64GB of ram to run games on a RAMDisk, loaded from images saved to an SSD. Its true real-time at that point, took me less than half a second to go from menu to playing in most games.

I hear good things about the 1070. Do check nvidia's release cycle to see when the next card gen is coming out, as well as market indicators about the company moving forward. Can find some top-tier deals if timed about when people see them rolling forward and users moving with them. If the outlook is iffy, old stuff stays expensive longer. Or ---- it and just be done.

Hey just want to warn you about your OS choice. Microsoft stopped supporting OS updates on windows 7 using Skylake and Kaby Lake. Only Windows 10 will update on those processors. If you did end up buying Windows 7, no need to worry. Windows 10 will activate with a Windows 7 key.

I am bored with of the rejection of 10 at this point. It runs 2x faster with less background waste, you can strip Windows Apps from an install or image using the Powershell remove-appxpackage commands, and can disable Cortana and return it to Search. Most importantly, you can disable diagnostics, telemetry, and phoning home, all of which 7 does, too (little known fact).

Here is how to remove bloat. http://www.thewindowsclub...-modern-apps-windows-8

Here is Microsoft's own page detailing how to disable all phoning home. https://docs.microsoft.co...-to-microsoft-services
