So, where can i find this vBios since Precision X1 is telling me i already have the latest? "94.02.42.80.16"

"Please find one of the latest BIOS ( 94.02.42.80.27) available for this Graphics card.

and let us know the results after updating the BIOS.

Regards

EVGA"

Besides the immediate firmware that updates immediately there was also another Vbios that it needs that isn't as obvious...
So that might fix your issues.

Open PX1 , see the icons at the very top - vga, led, hwm, power, rebar - >  click on the REBAR icon
3rd selection down that page should read as - graphics VBIOS & it probably says to the right of the numbers that an update is needed.
click that & a DOSbox opens up where you usually have to OK it with a "Y" for yes a couple times .
then reboot system after completed =
cross fingers that you are now all good .

also - -EVGA GeForce 30 Series HYBRID/XOC/Default BIOS Thread - EVGA Forums   , make sure you turn off FAST BOOT in the motherboard BIOS & make sure CSM is disabled in their too...

Hi, thank you for your reply. This doesn't help me tho. I've already updated to the latest version that Precision X1 allows me to do.

Can you confirm which vBios version it shows for you as the latest?

Thats exactly what i replied to support yesterday too. Stopped getting responses after it xD

They seems to want me to RMA the card. But i'm not sure it's hardware fail since it started happening right after a driver update. Could be random timed ofc tho. And it's only happening when Gsync is on.. so, can work for hours/days/weeks, then all of a sudden when i go into destiny 2 and load up tower or some other intense game, it will shutdown monitor and turn it back on, repeat this until i alt+f4 the game xD Doesn't matter which game, as long as it's a high GPU intense one.. Disabling Gsync works 100% of the times for me, but it's nice with gsync because it gives less fatigue when u game 12-16hrs/day XD

Do we know if all cards have this issue or nah? Because i had it before, then some driver i didn't have it at all. Asked a friend with the same card, he said he had it before also, but not anymore... We are on the same drivers so thats why it's confusing AF.

I have a 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA Gaming card and I have the latest vBIOS. I still have to keep G-Sync disabled to be able to use this card on a multi-monitor setup.
So the issue is anyway there. I basically cannot use the card if I enable G-Sync (on a G-Sync compatible monitor, even listed on the NVidia website). Quite ridiculous tbh.

Does you friend have a multi-monitor setup? Do you have two or more screens connected? As far as I know, the problem appears only to people having multiple screens connected.

Edit: I have indeed RMA'd the card initially and even purchased a beefier PSU - nothing changed. Don't RMA the card, it's not your card. The issue is on the driver/firmware side.

I'm having that issue even in single monitor mode XD i'm thinking it's driver/bios issue 100% too tbh!

How did you find out it was related to G-Sync? I really wasted so much money (PSU, RMA, cables) before realizing that was the problem.
I also told support that G-Sync is the issue, but I don't think they care about our findings (or at least they made me feel my opinion didn't matter). :(

I ran gsync off, then i enabled it, played some and got the lovely monitorOFF-monitorON-monitorOFF-monitorON-monitorOFF-monitorON-monitorOFF-monitorON-monitorOFF-monitorON nonstop experience until i alt+tabbed and disabled gsync xD tried it XX times and it's 100% only happens when gsync is enabled.. So actually for me is different. If I keep G-Sync enabled, at some point both screens go black, drivers get restarted, usually the game crashes, only one of the screens comes back alive and I get an error 14 in the event viewer of Windows. The only way to restore the system is to hard reboot. Oddly enough, it very often happens when I have twitch open on the second monitor.

I can reproduce it with 100% success ratio in less than 5 minutes with Prepar3D.

My 3080ti FTW3 Ultra runs fine with G-Sync enabled for one monitor and the other monitor is not G-Sync compatible.

There seems to be a common thread for this problem and a few people here.

May I suggest reporting the issue to Nvidia via their driver feedback form? https://docs.google.com/f...GP9hMCN6gKssA/viewform

happy for you (even if this breaks my heart). I do have problems 100% with P3D but with other games I don't. I might be very well unlucky in this regard.
What version of the drivers / vBios are you running?

Havent installed P3d in quite some time, I invest my time now in MSFS :-)
But P3D giving problems - I am not surprised.

hmm odd your having issues in single display g sync. Is your monitor one of them on nvidias compatible list? I've never had issues using g sync even on one's not on the compatible list but results could vary though. Also remeber yesterday was a holiday for evga so not getting a response is not out of the ordinary.

yeah me neither - the problem is that I was able to reproduce the issue with OCCT running on main screen (shader complexity 4) and twitch open on the second screen.
Similarly, happened to me 4 times when playing League of Legends (don't make fun of me :p).

So initially I blamed hard P3D, but now I feel the problem is really at driver level. I disabled G-Sync and now I've been flying for days without hiccups (and never had crashes in general anymore).

With MSFS never had any issue whatsoever as well.

Re: Black screen Gsync on 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING - Supports tells me to update vBios 2021/09/11 08:15:42 (permalink)
I would like to bump this thread again and possibly reach out to someone who also has P3D and an EVGA card (best would be the 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra).
I can 100% reproduce the issues within few minutes and it's driving me crazy. Sure - I can disable G-Sync now the card would work, but I am trying to figure out if it's my system (my DP cable is certified) or something else.

    My specs:
    • EVGA GeForce RTX 3080Ti FTW3 ULTRA (I RMA'd the card, and both cards have the same symptoms)
    • LG UltraGear 34GN850-B (drivers installed, but no firmware update that I could do - the tool says I am already on the latest version)
    • Cooler Master V850 (sfx format)
    • Purelink DP cable
    • Monitor resolution: 3440 x 1440 (Ultra-wide)
I also tried to run this with a single monitor and still manage to get the crashes. If you are curios to know LOTS of details on the crashes, you can read about it here: https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=143223&sid=96352bf758fc7fc9d83271aef173799a
It's the Prepar3d forum where I posted the issues, as I initially thought that problem was only with the game.

    Thing is:
    • With Prepar3d  I get crashes systematically within 5 minutes
    • With other games I don't have seldom crashes (happened 3-4 times with LoL in a month)
    • Happened twice with OCCT
    • I tried with the G-Sync pendulum demo and no crashes at all

If someone has the same hobby/similar card and would like to give me a feedback.. <3

Just for giggles you could try downloading msi after burner and underclcoking the card. Its really grasping at straws but if you want give it a shot.
