Restart the pc after moving the switch. Sometimes you'll need to completely shutdown the system, flip the switch on the psu to cut power, press and hold the case power on button for 30 seconds, flip psu switch back on, start pc.

Flipping the VBIOS switch and either restarting or cold starting your PC should apply the selected VBIOS.

If you don't see any differences/changes such as Power Target being able to be adjusted higher with Precision XOC on the Seconday/Slave VBIOS than the Primary/Master VBIOS (117% vs 127%, I believe) or the fans always running with the Seconday/Slave VBIOS, then I would click the little "i" icon in the top-right of Precision XOC and make sure both VBIOS versions aren't the same for some odd reason..Switch to each VBIOS and note the version number, which may also be valuable info for EVGA Customer Service should you need to contact them.

You can call (fastest way) or email EVGA Customer Service for assistance or to get a VBIOS if needed.

After leaving my computer off over night ( off for 8 hours ) the bios change took affect.

Related question...  will the card automatically clock itself higher on slave or does it just allow higher power settings for manual overclock?

Flipping the switch to slave usually just keeps the fan always on. Normally the master bios has the fan off at idle and comes on when it heats up.. plus gives you the option of selecting a higher power output in evga's px oc.

Now a cooler card will automatically overclock higher.. slave should be a bit more aggressive on the fan curve.

Not sure what card you have.. at any rate the 2nd bios is an option to flash with other bios and you want to keep the master bios always the same just encase something happens durring a bios flash and can then revert back to the master.

Ok, thanks.  I have my fan curve set to aggressive anyway. My 1080SC2 icx runs about 60c folding.  I might flip that switch just so I don't have to keep xoc running for the fan curve.  I'll get out of this thread now.

It could if you were running into the power limit at stock settings.

pull the power cord from the computer power supply - some people forget there may be a UPS .
I tend to also remove USB and sound cables as not all devices powered by same UPS or power strip.

It is interesting how long those small LED's stay lit after flipping the computer power supply switch.

Yes the caps on the motherboard will store power that needs to be drained. Pull the psu plug and hold the power button for 15 secs to drain the power after flipping the GPU bios switch.
