Yeah, the worst thing you can do is to buy from them.

cypto tanking nvidia adding lite hash to chips means prices gonna fall and gamers gonna get em.

How does best buy fight against bot? And details.

They require you to pick it up in-store.

I will pay it if the scalped price is reasonable.

If the price was reasonable, they wouldn't be scalping.

As long as there is a market for things like this, there isn't much we can do.

eBay and similar sites could shut down 3rd party sales like during the pandemic but I don't know how realistic that would be.

wow the amount of people who used this thread to fluff up their post count to reach elite.

This thread should have been locked after the first page.  How the heck did it get to 4 pages of everyone saying the exact same thing...

Really, you think so?

I'd just say bot to get your card and be done with it. I honestly would if I had the slightest clue how to.

This.

I think the folks who buy the cards at these prices are mostly miners looking to maximize profit before the next cut. Or gamers with a ton of disposable income and no qualms in being scammed out of their money and rewarding scalpers.

The best way to combat scalping is the retailers. They should set about ways to discourage bots. Of course many retailers only see profits as their bottom line and will sell at any price.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

The issue is they get money either way so they have less incentive. There really should be gamers coalitions which advocate for gamer-retailer cooperation..

best way to escape scalpers is to have nvidia and AMD stop pulling stupid useless products out of their asses, and focus their yields on the products thats already selling well in mass quantity

I suppose the best way is to just enter the Queues and wait, I am glad to have found out about them, now it just requires a little bit of patience and I should be good to go.

Unpopular opinion: Join them. Most likely a real gamer isn't going to buy your 3080, a miner is. So get a card, scalp it so the miner pays way more, and then take your $1000 profit and use it to build an even better PC in 6 months if/when this all calms down.

I honestly don't think that its miners buying a lot of the GPUs, even the LHR gpus are still selling like hotcakes on eBay for double the msrp, and at those prices, I don't think miners would be interested in them, as there are better options available in terms of hashrate for less money
