So basically all you need is a console or a PC that can run BF4 which had the same GTX 660 GPU recommended requirement. Not even DX12 or Windows 10 exclusive. On the bright side, hackers will love it. Used to be AAA games would drive the upgrade market. I can't imagine components manufacturers are happy with this. Warren said it best, "the secret to happiness is low expectations."

Well they've been using the same engine for over a decade.
Expect launch issues and it still not working correctly regardless of the amount of patches they release to "fix" issues such as server lag, client dsync, and awful hit registration which are all still present in Battlefield 1.

Probably will come later when they figure out what to put without offending Xbox or Nvidia. We already know Microsoft doesn't like it when pc games look better on pc's and Nvidia knows how pc games are meant to be played so... stinking politics can't even stay out of my gaming.

The only difference will end up being a keyboard and mouse. EA clearly hates PC gamers.

Where should I start? Just compare the past to the present. Almost all multiplayer game server customization and control has been removed. Now, you just join some generic server and do the same thing over and over again until you are either tired of it or someone ruins the experience and forces you to choose to quit. Their game from 2013 still has the same popularity as their game from 2016. Not a great sign. Based on what? Many here have loudly rebuked the Battlefield franchise's choices and direction. Is that enough of an indicator of this community's opinion of the franchise?

Yep, I've heard nothing from them touting any type of engine changes this time to fix the years of awful hit registration,... nor any decent conversation regarding improved cheat detections or reporting functions. ...and we are all full aware of how bad the BF1 service was in terms of people wanting to run their own server and have some type of actual moderating / stat collection/ rule enforcement ....   This is just BF 1 .75 - tweaked gameplay / reskins / & new maps .... Until I hear something of deep, important technical significance,- this marks the very first time I will not be buying a "Battlefield game "    * PC gaming warriors weep for a once proud comrade that has fallen *

BF4 is an imbalanced circus with very bad maps. World War 3 looks awesome and I hope it crushes Battlefield into dust then sweeps it right under the rug. EA and DICE deserve it.

yeah , but WW III also is a battle royale game with little hopes of great anti-cheat protection. But I do wish them well in possibly showing up the big studios and becoming a hit anyways. I might buy it out of spite.....

The specs seem to show that they are planning to make sure it runs great on PS4 and Xbox One aging hardware. As for the brand itself I think that it has been suffering for some time from EA trying to be pay to win.

I begged for BF2142 to be remastered/reimagined when they were thinking about BF3, BF4 and BF1. Now EA is dead to me specifically for destroying Battlefield.
2142 is a era that will never be revisited. The game was designed around squads and actual objectives. Now days EVERY multiplayer FPS is designed around an individual being able to do it all. Even in it's day it was largely ignored for Battlefield 2's spam fest and god like aircraft. Pod surfing was so fun. EA trying to put advertisement on billboards on the maps didn't help it's reputation either.

BF2142 they were Titan's, a ship in the sky, you took down the shield then attached the core to destroy it to win. BF2142 was too small and linear, but oh so much fun, and truly deserves a remake, but all the right stuff is already there. Don't say never lie to me ;)

A map maker would be an asset but I don't see it happening any time soon (or ever).
They could charge for groups of maps issued by the public. It could be ideal so they don't feel left out, but they probably just want 100% control.

I don't know why, but I got soo into that game. Basically stopped playing BF2 because of it. The introduction to dog tags, and it wasn't that easy to get them either. Some of the medals were hard to get too. Those were the days, good times. I haven't been able to play anything lately, but the stuff they changed with the servers is the biggest let down for me. I mean they changed it after I got used to Battlelog and actually liked it! It's been a while for me though...

So whats this WW3 game been out of it for a while did a search and came up with ww3 black gold on steam is this what you are talking about or is it something else

BF4 is an imbalanced circus with very bad maps. World War 3 looks awesome and I hope it crushes Battlefield into dust then sweeps it right under the rug. EA and DICE deserve it.
So whats this WW3 game been out of it for a while did a search and came up with ww3 black gold on steam is this what you are talking about or is it something else

I begged for BF2142 to be remastered/reimagined when they were thinking about BF3, BF4 and BF1. Now EA is dead to me specifically for destroying Battlefield.
2142 is a era that will never be revisited. The game was designed around squads and actual objectives. Now days EVERY multiplayer FPS is designed around an individual being able to do it all. Even in it's day it was largely ignored for Battlefield 2's spam fest and god like aircraft. Pod surfing was so fun. EA trying to put advertisement on billboards on the maps didn't help it's reputation either.
They kind of brought it back in BF4, an element at least, with Carrier Assult which was my favorite game mode in BF4. Good luck finding a server that runs it now. BF2142 they were Titan's, a ship in the sky, you took down the shield then attached the core to destroy it to win. BF2142 was too small and linear, but oh so much fun, and truly deserves a remake, but all the right stuff is already there. Don't say never lie to me ;)
I don't know why, but I got soo into that game. Basically stopped playing BF2 because of it. The introduction to dog tags, and it wasn't that easy to get them either. Some of the medals were hard to get too. Those were the days, good times.
I haven't been able to play anything lately, but the stuff they changed with the servers is the biggest let down for me. I mean they changed it after I got used to Battlelog and actually liked it! It's been a while for me though...
Yeah when awards/medals actually meant something not obtainable 100x's over for doing anything in matches. Remember certain ranks were limited to top performing players too.
