Just received my 1070 SC2 from amazon.co.uk, is this lighting normal? It looks terrible compared to my 1060 SSC. blotchy lighting, bright corner on the 'E' in 'E'vga, and the RGB temperature indicators are very dim, can't make out what they say without my face right up to them. Is there an easy fix? Thanks!

I've read that the latest version of PrecisionX flashes a new VBIOS that can fix the lighting. You might want to try it.

I have PrecisionX v6.1.11, the BIOS is 86.04.50.00.70. Has this been flashed automatically, or do i have to do it manually? I can't find where to do it

My understanding is that it should have been flashed automatically. It requires a complete shut down, not just a restart, to fully take effect.

If that doesn't work, then I suggest calling or emailing EVGA's tech support and checking with them if there is anything else to be done other than an RMA: http://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

    Lighting looks bad.

XOC doesn't update the vbios. XOC only updates the MCU's firmware.

Keep in mind you can change the GPM colors in precision xoc. Blue on black is hard to read regardless, but the idea is that they only really become visible when they are getting hot.

try uninstalling the evga tool and reinstalling the newest version. If it still doesn't work with that, contact evga support. might be a faulty card

Update - sorry for delay, been busy. After figuring that I’d be charged £14 for paying the collateral fee for an advanced RMA (converting to euros), I’ve changed it to a regular rma which I’m sending tomorrow with a prepaid shipping label EVGA has provided. I’ll update when I get the return. Stay tuned..

Update - I've had the replacement (1070 FTW2) for a few days, only today i've had time to play with it. It took evga a single day to process and ship the replacement.

The 'e' still has a brighter corner, but since everything else is brighter and more uniform, it isn't much of an issue.
The temperature leds are now bright enough to see, and the beefier cooler and RGB is very nice!
I just wish it didn't have such bad coil whine under load, though the SC2 was about the same.

    Thanks evga :)
