Windows_10 is misbehaving.....     I normally keep my Power settings on AMD Balaced, but passed few dayz Windows does what it wants. I normally put my system to sleep if need be, or shut-down, this isnt an Apple, I wish to have things the way I want, not forced to do things MS way... I miss Win7 dot dot dot!  Any ideas?

Are you just using there settings or do you hit there setting and then go thru the change plan settings and tweak it? I usually use the balanced one and then do the change plan settings. I have o and o shutup also with ashampoo's uninstaller 8 to shutdown stubborn services and keep them down. 10 is such a pita, but you can get it to behave with perseverance. My sleep works but in the plan settings i made sure hibernate was off and hybrid sleep was up, so when i put it to sleep i can tell cause my rgb ram sticks keep doing the breathing thing.....till i wake it again.

On my laptop, I have permanent issues where when I go on battery saver, it locks the laptop at max brightness.

It is likely a minor update that is changing your settings back, have you perhaps tried disabling that ? worked for me, so if that works for you, problem solved. Otherwise I am not sure what it else could be. Someone suggested power saver off, but in never mode that is off isnt it ?

One caveat, if you are on Ryzen 5000 series, just keep it on balanced.
