I have been getting this message about 5 minutes into starting battlefield. I turned off all overclocks, made sure all drivers are up to date, and reinstalled my graphics driver. I then decided to run other games and turns out they are doing it too. It was running fine yesterday and I ahve done nothing to it. It also only happens when I start a game or anything demanding. Im worried it might be the GPU or CPU at this point. What can I do to isolate the issue and trouble shoot?

Without your specs it's hard to say....

But a guess, after yesterday's very large BFV patch your hard/ssd drive(s) may need to be looked at.  Attention to the save drive for game files should be first

In general this stop code is caused by faulty driver code that under certain conditions, does not complete its work within the allotted time frame.

Suggestion: Reinstall older gpu drivers and see if the issue goes away.

Here is the systems file if that helps. I would suspect the update too but I played 4 hours after the update yesterday and its not isolated to BF5. It crashed when running Heaven and Witcher 3. It seems to be relating to anything CPU or GPU intensive.

The problem is this crash happened immediately after a clean install using DDU. Microsoft looked at the dump files and confirmed its coming from the graphics card. Theri exact response was "** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys

Completely remove everything of Graphics driver using DDU and install the newest copy of the driver available.

    http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-dri...

You can head to either the card manufacturer or device manufacturer to get the newest driver.
Let us know if you require any assistance. "

Ive been told that the latest Nvidia driver has a bug when using a high refresh rate display. Sugguested reverting to 417.01.

I reverted driver version last night and ran heaven for about 10 minutes, not long but I was crashing in minutes of start up previously. I also then proceeded to play some lower spec games last night. I have yet to re-enter BF5 or check the computer today but I suspect this fixed my issue. Towards the end of my issue I was crashing when even sitting at the desk top doing nothing and I didn't see that either last night. I will let you know the results from tonight's gaming session but I would say this new Nvidia driver update was the cause of my BSOD, and the fix is to revert to 417.01. It would be effecting people who use high refresh rate monitors. If I remember correct there was an earlier build that was reported to be doing the same thing, though I haven't seen this happen until this latest cut.

So I am not seeing a BSOD anymore but games and heaven are crashing after a extended amount of time. The program freezes on screen then everything else does to, the system never hows a message and doesnt recover. Forcing me to hold the power button and restart. Since its happening on other programs besides BF5, I would say its not a BF5 update. Could be Nvidia drivers, but I had no issues with the 417.01 before. I think it may be isolated to me, a temperature issue, I removed my closed loop water cooler and returned it in preperation of building a open loop custum run. I dont have any over clock on any part of my machine, so it cant be that, but I do have only 2 fans in my case right now so maybe its a temperature thing?

I highly suspected the GPU but I ran Prime 95 and a core is failing. I have run it several times and its not the same core every time, so far worker 5 and 11 have failed once, and worker 9 has failed twice. The failing core is moving around and usually failing in by a minute into Prime 95. The one time it didnt show a failure, I stopped it at 10 minutes since it was usually failing in less than a minute on the other runs. I suspect this is why earlier I was able to play Battlefield for a hour before failure but the reboot after, it lasted a minute into Heaven.

Temps on the processor are low-ish, 60-70 when the is running. Not one sticking out in temp.

So a side note, when the core fails the test, I lose audio. Dont know what that means but interesting.

While I had my case open inspecting parts, there is a definite clear whining sound. Not of fan motors but a electronics, high piched  whine. It sounds like its coming from the graphics card but Im 100% sure.

I was doing that while typing my last reply. I had 2 stick in and it crashed immediately but I swapped to the other 2 and its ran 10 minutes before I stopped it. It also didnt crash during heaven Going to try and isolate if its a card or the slot possibly, I did add 2 more in a couple days ago, but theyre not the last piece I put in.

No, it was me, myself, and I. I swapped my MB and case a month ago and used old parts. Ive swapped nearly everything else during the remaing month. only orginal thing is harddrives. I did mulptiple clean installs of the OS during that time.

So I have been swapping Ram cards into different configurations and there appears to be no consistency to crashes. It doesnt seem to matter the slot or the card in it. Sometimes it crashes others it doesnt. What even odd is if there is a crash, most of the time I wasnt able to recreate the crash with a few more tries.

I ran the memory diagnostic and the results showed every thing to be fine.

However, while I was in even viewer, I noticed some consistent errors.
A large number coming source DistributedCOM with event ID 10016
A decent number from source Security-SPP with Event ID 8233
See a handful from source Display with Event ID 4101 (all stating "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered")

Also saw Application Error with ID code 1000 with details
Faulting application name: bfv.exe, version: 1.0.68.22923, time stamp: 0x5c05ac27
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.17763.134, time stamp: 0x1659a33b

Another question I have is, could this be software? Any chance a clean install of Windows help?

So I was able to run a few other games for a couple hours without issue. I decided to uninstall BF5 and try it again. Within the first 10 minutes it crashed. On reboot it goes past the bios, then it shows the ASUS loading screen. Once that's done it should go to the windows screen but it just remains blank. I cant get it to go any further. I'm afraid that whatever was wrong, may have just kicked the bucket. Though I am not seeing any QLED lights on the board indicating component boot failure.

Just keeping a running log on here.

After several attempts I finally was able to make it to the log in screen. Once I logged in the screen would go either to a solid green or solid grey color. Seconds after getting logged in. Safe mode booted just fine and I was able to get in and look around.

At this point I've reached the "heck with it" point and doing a clean, full format, of the OS. Ir certainly cant hurt. I dont know what else to do at this point and have no idea what's going on.

Sounds like you have multiple issues with your rig. Time to get the gpu tested in another rig. Since the prime95 crashes occur randomly I would suggest boosting your vcore to whatever you had it set at when you were ocing the cpu, but this time around leave the cpu at stock clocks to see if the increased vcore fixes the crashes in prime95.

I have no idea what the vcore was set to. When I when there was a OC, I was simply changing the clock ratios on the cores and left everything else on auto. Was given the advice that was a good place to start for a novice so that's what I did. I also dont have the over volt cable installed in the board.

What are the chances this is a MB problem? I just find it hard to believe I have multiple failed parts in a matter of weeks of install. It was running fine up until 2 days ago. At that point I had turned the OC off for a few days in preparation of putting in a custom water loop.

I'm also able to run some games just fine, I played Deep Rock Galactic for 2-3 hours last night and Roller coaster Tycoon 2 for 2 1-2 hours the night before. But Heaven, Prime 95, and BF5 have errors in minutes. This is what's confusing me, some things work and others dont.
