Yeah it wasn’t the best Pentathlon but it’s still fun
I’ll do it again next year and hope better projects are chosen

It has occurred to me on occasion. Offer up a little bit of proof, it won't take much to get my attention.

Yeah I have thought of that, but there is zero chance.
BIONC is run by a huge world known university (Berkeley) .
All projects are scrutinized before being allowed to join the BOINC scientific network.
WCG was founded by IBM with Marist college. I worked at IBM and also worked on the raised floors of both IBM and Marist college. HVAC tech working on the Liebert and Ed-Pack A/C , plus their electrical systems.
I had talked to the techs at both places about WCG, its real. They told me to join up but I was only doing folding at that time. I had mentioned to them about folding and with all their systems they would do great.
My daughter got her masters from Marist. They are in the top of producers, it's real.
The other projects many of them are schools, some are smaller institutions but still have to be approved to join.
Folding was run by Stanford U. so zero chance it is a front for miners.
And mining was not even a thing when all this started so highly doubtful school professors and IBM engineers want to go to prison when they make big $$$ and benefits already.

I do a little vetting before I run projects.
  • Who runs the project and what is their affiliation (university, corporation, independent)?
  • Where does the project run?
  • Have any research articles been released?
If I can't find answers or something seems off, then I don't run it. My choice.

Tough year getting and turning in tasks.
As computers get more powerful and more people join in; it will overload the servers more as time goes on.

Not the best Pentathlon ever but we gave a solid effort considering...  I'll be back again though since I like the whole idea of it.
It seems that not many projects are able to handle the volume from these coordinated events anymore.

Indeed, I was good with NumberFields@home until the end.
