Adds OC support for the i9-10850K CPU and fixes an LN2 mode issue with the DARK

BIOS 1.04 (E599 DARK) / BIOS 1.06 (E597 FTW)

  • Adds OC support for i9-10850K processors
  • Fixes issue where Comet Lake-S processors could not be used with LN2 mode (DARK only)

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         121-RL-E599-KR - EVGA Z590 DARK - v1.04
         121-RL-E597-KR - EVGA Z590 FTW - v1.06
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

Awesome, looking forward to trying this bios out soon! Any word on when a new bios for the Z490 Dark/Kingpin/FTW will be released that has the same improvements to memory overclocking/compatibility that were given to the Z590 boards, such as running tRAS below 28 on Rocket Lake?

Thought I'd test it out on the Z590 FTW. Still no post at 3600MHz gear 1. Honestly if there's no BIOS updates to correct it by my next system change, I'm jumping ship. But I should have stuck to my instincts and returned this board before it was too late.

gear 1 is mostly imc limited. but most imc can do atleast 3733. have u tried to do bclk oc to get the frequncy up and gear one work best in the ratio133 mghz.

I haven't tried that approach. My frustration comes from knowing that, 100% for a fact, the CPU can handle this memory.

Hey, when I set above 1.6V SA the system refuses to post with code F0, is this intentional?

Also there seems to be a bug when setting bclk outside of default range (> 102), where after F10 the board gets stuck on code 7F with VSA, VCCIO and VCCPLL voltages indicated missing by LEDs. Needs manual power cycle to work around

    DARK PER CORE OC BUG
edit: this is with HT-off, looks like it works with ht on , also with ht-off it doesnt work if u set the clock in bios, but using elect x1 it works.
there is a bug with per core oc.

u can clearly see that i have set core 8 and core 1 as 5.2 in the bios

and thats what it shows in the per core voltage setting as well.

but reality is different, it shows 5.2 core 0/core1 and rest 5.1 which is not what i have set in the bios.

same goes here, i have set core 5,6,7,8 as 5.2 in the bios

and thats what it shows in the per core voltage setting as well.

but in reality nothing changed everything is sitting at 5.1

i still havent done memory ,god knows how many bugs exist in the memory section.

sigh, i thought dark's bios will have no issues.......guess i was wrong.

This will be fixed in the next BIOS release.
