My system uses BIOS so it will not recognize the full capacity of a 4TB drive, or will it?

If I initialize the 4TB ssd to MBR, regardless of the stated capacity of 2TB in the volume, will the ssd still write / install data over 2TB and be usable?

If I understand correctly, if I initialize the 4TB ssd to GPT, the BIOS computer will not boot, or will it with Windows 10 installed and all other computer components are UEFI compatible (2080ti, ssd)?

Thanks

It should see all 4tb inside bios.

    Yes.

That is correct it won’t boot if you’re trying to use the drive as a boot drive. If you’re only going to use the drive as a secondary drive then it should still boot even if setup with gpt.

I store everything on one drive for now. Next computer I'll isolate the OS and store games on a different drive and so on.

I tries a few variations and with W10 and BIOS you have to use MBR resulting in a 2tb drive instead of a 4tb drive. GPT and Bios just wont work-nada.

W7 32bit wont work and W7 64 with UEFI will not take advantage of the security benefits of UEFI. You need W10 and UEFI for all the beans.

Trying to make room for FS 2020 on the drive. I have an old 1tb 850evo I may use for just FS 2020. At least that will save me 500 bucks.
