I repeated this three times to make sure. I'm using Asus Predator X34 monitor, connected via DisplayPort. I am not oveclocking the monitor. The Source is set to DP. I also have the Rift connected via HDMI. I have MS Sculpt keyboard connected via USB. After upgrading to 1.06 BIOS on my Classified MB, I hear the BIOS beep codes. But nothing shows on the screen. Since I know you have to hit F1 to continue or F12 to enter setup, I hit F12 (again, the screen is blank). Then after a few seconds, the BIOS screen shows up for about 5 seconds or less. It then goes blank again. I can let it boot up, and it will go into Windows. But I can't access anything in BIOS. If I go back to 1.05, no issues with accessing the BIOS screen. Is anyone else have this problem? Don't think it matters, but I have 7700K CPU, 1080Ti Hybrid (EVGA), and 3200MHz Corsair 4X 8GB DDR4 sticks. Corrected the typo: TY bcavnaugh. I can't PM yet since I'm new to the forum(?)

Have you tried switching the bios switch to another bios? This motherboard has a switch where you can load different bios versions and if one is giving you an issue, you can switch to an earlier one that was working properly.

DP is very finicky about cables and bios version, had pretty much the same issue with a ASRock board and a evga 1060, after much troubleshooting and back and forth with asrock it came to a bios issue. Not sure what the fix will be when they finally update it.

Heatware, I can load the older 1.05 by letting it boot into Windows. So I could use another slot, but it won't fix my monitor going blank. And since I can't PM yet, yes I see full 1600MHz x 2 for 3200MHz. I'm using E-Leet to show me the measured MHz values. Quadlatte, Thanks. It's annoying because it works fine in older BIOS version. It's just 1.06 that's having this issue.

I had issues too updating to 1.06. I also have the predator x34. I’m also running sli 1080Ti SC Blacks. I have the z270 classified k and I’ve always used my bottom card for my displays. DP for the x34 and hdmi for a small secondary 1080p monitor I use for XOC or whatever. From bios version 1 to 1.05 I’ve never had an issue booting/seeing the bios splash screen on startup. Since 1.06 I can boot into windows fine but I just get black screen and can’t get into bios it just goes right to windows. I thought I had a bad bios flash but turned out after I moved all cables to my top card I had my bios splash screen back with ability to get into bios like normal. Another strange thing is this, with both DP and hdmi connected I get the bios splash screen only through hdmi and going into bios will appear on my 1080 monitor. With the hdmi disconnected then I will have the bios screen on my x34 like I used to have. Up till 1.05 I’ve always had the bios on my x34 even with the hdmi monitor connected so there is something different with 1.06 for sure. I called evga tech support to report my issue and the tech forwarded it to the engineering dept. Otherwise no other issues with 1.06.

Thanks for confirming. I suspected the video was being redirected to my Rift (on HDMI) since I could hit F12, for example. And it would splash on for a few seconds. And I could boot into Windows if left alone. I'll unplug HDMI and see what happens. Will file a report with EVGA so they can address it. It must be a timing issue with X34.

So I tried moving the DP cable to the second DP port on the 1080Ti. No dice. I tried another working cable, no dice. I tried removing the HDMI/Rift, no dice. 1.06 has a problem with Pedator, or Predator has a problem with EVGA. I'll call support after new years to report it. I can't use 1.06 since I need to be able go into BIOS to setup my OC.

Guess I got lucky since I have second Ti to plug into which is in the top x16/8 pcie slot. Hdmi takes precedence but with that unplugged my DP will then display the bios screen. I get nothing out of my second Ti in the x8 slot till it just boots right to windows. Otherwise I would roll back to 1.05. 1.06 is fine other wise so I’ll stick with it. If you have a small tv to try the hdmi only maybe you’ll have the bios. Not a solution but maybe just to test. I didn’t hear anything back from EVGA yet when I called. Good luck!

One Odd finding I have seen is that on a Bios Update and you have more than one GPU installed make sure your Monitor is Connected to the GPU installed in the Slot Next To The CPU.

No, but I didn't call support either. I decided to upgrade to a Z370 Classified so it became a moot point. @ bcavnaugh, I only have the one 1080Ti. No SLI setup for me.

When testing -- monitor off then back on may help BUT off should be PULL the power plug not just the on/off switch. Had to do that when DP was not working one day.
