Doesn't look offensive to me, my mom actually laughed the other night when I was browsing the forums. Tbh someone you got in a debate with and beat probably complained about it since they had no other way of getting to you. That seems to be happening a lot lately.

It is funny, but these forums are designed for all ages, men and women. To some your avatar could be offensive.
You should change it out of respect for others.

Your avatar may not look offensive, but it is what is 'implied' that makes it offensive.

Let's get something clarified. The word "Offensive" was never used in the PM.

Part of the PM stated the following:  "not appropriate" for the Evga forums.

I can't believe you went ahead and posted this thread. All your doing is making the Mods jobs alot harder. What is the intent of the Avatar? What is it trying to portray? What message is it sending?

    Re:Avatar 2013/05/05 17:36:35 (permalink)
I posted that as a funny pic in a thread talking about "flashers' awhile back.  I wouldn't use it as an Avatar.  I also have been told by a Mod when I first joined the forum to get rid of my Avatar.  They deemed it to revealing which is wasn't in comparison to a lot of avatars I've witnessed, but that is how they interpreted it.  There is so much material out there, I am sure you can find something 'more appropriate' for the forum.  It not like you're going to win a Avatar battle with the mods, so just change it to a billion options out there.

BTW, the Avatar they considered too revealing does not have an age requirement to see it on the SyFy Channel website.  It was this one.

This one would have passed the test, but I've just moved along and this show only lasted one season which is a shame.

I also come here for some advice from many here at the forum and like i said I have had this avatar for almost 3yrs and no other moderator has said anything to me.
So, if you're giving me 24hrs. or my privileges will be revoked, why not just delete my account.

You are not entitled to not following the rules of the forums just because no one noticed your avatar for years because you happen to not log in often enough for anyone to see it.  Your intent for being here doesn't compensate for the age-inappropriate avatar of a banana exposing his endowment like a pedophile.  No one has to ask, you knew exactly what the picture implies, yet choose to take the suggestion to change it personal while risking your whole reason for being here by taking a stand, challenging the rules.

The solutions is quite simple really.... If you were asked to change it, don't debate it, just change it.

In the grand scheme of it all, does it really matter that much to you ?

    I don't find it offensive.
Truth be told, I never even noticed it till now.

That being said though, if they asked you to change it, its best just to do just that.
While we might not like some of the rules, we do agree to them while using this forum.

That avatar is... not consistent with the level of "family friendliness" I've come to understand the EVGA forums to have. Though my opinion doesn't matter, as it's not up to me or the results of any poll you could create.

Yes over moderation. I see threads locked left and right and for what? Why is this needing reviewed? http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1925583 Oh no, it's a gun!!!

X-Ray is kewl, just doing what he has to do. My guess is if it were up to him personally, he wouldn't give a flying fruitbat about your avatar, but chances are some douche complained so he is obliged to act, so you're shooting the messenger basically. Yes it sucks, but that's the TOS as they stand at present (although there's the argument that it should be up to parents to control what their kids view). Personally I lmao at that image you have as an avatar - always loved it. But hey, now you can get a cute kitty or something like I have! weeee!

Claude that image of the bannana is funny as hell maybe just put a censored sticker over his exposed bannana or hang a donut on it lol
Most of the Mods always seem like they are old and moody but I guess you never know a job until you walk a mile in their shoes.
Thread locks for review is just a new way to lock it often it stays locked with no review. Sometimes no warnings are given so that rule is always a bit, unless im having a bad day then boom thread lock !!

It is funny though it feels a bit like that robocop where he gets reprogrammed and goes all hard core on smoking or a bananna exposure or a bit of ankle or leg but hand guns and shotgun photo's in the forums thats ok ?

People are, well, only human. We know that. The rule of law is borne out in identifying, condemning, and punishing those who violate the standards on which society agrees. This is exactly what we do in America.

I am talking a poll about my avatar (i cant believe im doing this)....

Forum moderation is not done by democracy. Whining to the community about anything a mod said to you is pure cheese. The proper way to handle yourself is to contact Rob for clarification.

Don't worry, I had a message 2 days ago regarding my avatar. It said this: After review with Evga management. It has been deemed that your Avatar is Political in nature, and must be removed. You have 24 hours to remove it. Failure to remove it may result in Avatar privileges being removed, and Avatar would be removed by us. Your cooperation is appreciated. Thank you.

Now I will be highly upset if I have to change the avatar that I have now. Like it says DON"T TREAD ON ME!!

These forums are a privilege...and a great place for fun, information, and deals.
I just don't understand why people can't simply treat the forum creators and moderators with respect.

If you can tell me that you have never got a good deal on the "Hot Deals" section of the forum I will believe your consumers comment.....

You make a outstanding valid point. Its very true, if it was not for us consumers, EVGA would not have any revenue whatsoever to have these forums online. Despite paying for products, as consumers we help advertise EVGA's products. I feel that we have a couple of suck ups lurking around lol. Just to clarify, not stating you Chrome.
