Aurora R6 With GTX 1080 Ti

Constantly overheats and causes the system to freeze - unless I run external fan control software which cools it enough to keep it running but seems like a treatment of a symptom not a solution.
 
If Dell/Alienware cannot sort it out - does EVGA make a GTX 1080 variant that will stay cool under 100% load and fit inside the Aurora R6 case?  And if Dell/Alienware cannot fix it does EVGA take 'raw' Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti cards in trade? :)
