Not difficult for terrorists to go to Europe. There's many of them there just waiting to strike.

ISIS recruits internally in countries and there are (sadly) many people who are weak willed and easily manipulated.

Nothing happened, that's computer simulation by government, no victims, no bomb.... fake. Can you imagine some people really believe in such nonsense that nothing happen and that someone could lie such things, and that's not worse, some Russian allies even justify this and explain that they deserved this because US create ISIS. For me such people are worse than ISIS, I swear, I almost cried when I heared news. Only one thing is on my mind, something need to be done to stop this and democratic leaders maybe should forget just for moment on human rights and all regulations when we talk about people who done such things. It;s much better if they live with knowledge that if they done something like this 50-100 Members of their family will live in some kind of Prison camps for relatives of suicide bombers in worse condition only with necessary things to survive some short time. If need to sleep on open weather on rain, snow, sun, only with bread and water like in Zoo park and everyone should go there to tell them what he want. After that at least 70% of suicide bombers will stop to do that and families will report big percent of people with radical ideas and activities. Muslims occupied Europe and blackmail politic leaders and community for anything they want, mixed with journalists who scream if more billion of muslims didn't get permission to live there and disaster is unavoidable. White people from East Europe can't ger persmission to live in Germany or Swiss and find better job or any job because in some county average payement is 350 euro, and only because people with higher monthly payement influence on average percent, mostly young people work for 180-200 euro... But muslims enter free and become protected better than domestic population. Europe is place where human life worth most and that should be protected, but muslims and Russia try to destroy their value and favor of autocracy and fake demoracy with censorship and dictature. I could imagine only how much jobs will be free for people borned in Europe and much less pressure on social services if billions of Muslims back to country of origin. Anyway good percent of them talk they would like to back, but somehow they decide to stay. Some new regulation for suicide bombers should be realesed and their relatives on East or West no matter where they live. If they not respect own life and own human rights than governments should treat them different than normal criminals and killers.

This probably could of been avoided with properly trained security guards and checking any bags entering the event.

No this can't be avoided like that, every year bomb will be smaller and smaller, or someone will sit in few tones truck and cross over security and everyone who is arround. Worse thing is because everyone from Christians expect to stay calm. If this happen to Muslims that would be completely different thing. But Muslims expect to Christians tolerate this without consequences for anyone, to sit cry and collect casulties. Most of them didn't had right to vote, and don't care for politic. Religious fanatics have only one purpose, to people feel unpleasant in public and fear to become victims, that was situation in Israel during one period but they deal with fanatics properly and didn't allow nobody special Russia to dictate them what to do with Palestinians and Hezbollah. And now is situation tight but not as before.

It happened outside as people where leaving the show. It's really hard to stop something like that because the crowed was exiting the event. The unfortunate problem is the attack worked so you have to worry about if it would be tried at like a football game where you could have 50,000 people leaving the event within minutes of the end of the game.

It's not like this happens over night. There is a lot of planning that goes into these, which targets they want to hit, how they are going to go about it, and everything. It's not sudden by any means. Shootings.. those are sudden. Explosives are not.

The war on ISIS feels like a losing cause. They don't value human life in the same way the people that they are fighting do. My basic understanding is that they are searching for a final battle between their religion and everyone else and they want that battle as foretold in their interpretation of their religious text. As bad as it sounds, I really wish we would grant them this. It really seems to be the only way that this will end. As far as the refugee problem, I struggle with that as well. Their is no shortage of hatred for the west in the majority of muslim populations in the countries that are now ISIS controlled. So the people that hate the west/that way of life also hate ISIS and need to leave. I get that. But why then is it that they trek to europe/us/etc instead of integrating into one of their other muslim neighbors who likely have customs and religious beliefs more closely aligned with theirs? I don't want to see 2 yr old boys wash up on beaches. It's disgusting and it shouldn't happen in this world. Having said that, why aren't they just moving to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Etc. and how do we meet the challenge of valuing the lives of their children more then they do?

As a retired non-commissioned intelligence officer I have to say that this act is actually one of desperation for ISIS. They are losing more and more ground to anti-ISIS forces. They believe acts like this will help their cause when in fact it will in time weaken them even further.

Out of curiosity, why do you say it's a desperate move? This sort of thing appears to be one of their more common things. It's a bit less sophisticated or overtly intimidating then video taping mass executions but it does fall in line with some of their other tactics.

Indeed, this kind of stupidity isn't endemic to just ISIS. People in general are getting pretty extreme. I think irrational might be a better term than stupid, granted those aren't mutually exclusive. Mostly it's a matter of pride, and hatred. Maybe some gullibility and underlying insecurity, I can't imagine any other reason you'd flock to such a movement and commit to it.
