Hey, been having a heap of trouble with my gpu recently, where I am stuck in an 800x600 resolution . I did some research and found out it was caused by a driver issue (error code 43), and after reinstalling my drivers using ddu the issue was still present. Additionally, while booting up my pc I am also getting artifacts in the form of purple dots all over my screen. Would appreciate some help. Cheers.

I would contact support about the issue. It might be needing an RMA if it’s not loading drivers and only loading the default windows driver. Also do you notice the purple line before the computer boots up into Windows? That is important to know if it’s windows driver or the card.

Things to try would also be making sure two different power cables are used to supply power to the card. That the card is correctly seated in the PCI-E slot and if you have an overclock try setting it back to default. Also make sure motherboard drivers are up to date and Windows updates.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean two different power cables? Currently I have one power cable which splits into two 8 pin headers which I am using; should I be using two entirely separate cables?? I am fairly sure the card is seated correctly, I tried removing it and reseating it yesterday. No I do not have an overclock. And yeah windows are mobo drivers are up to date. Finally, the artifacting starts when I boot up around about the time the windows logo appears (It'll artifact with a heap of purple dots, freeze for a second or so, then the artifacts dissapear), the artifacts don't appear at all after that. Thanks for the help, I'll contact support.

That's correct.  Use two separate PCIe power cables from the PSU, not combined.

See: How do I submit an RMA to EVGA? in the EVGA FAQs to get your faulty card replaced or return it to where you bought it from if that's possible.

I'm having the exact same issue on my 2080 TI. I submitted a ticket, and I'll have to wait and see what happens.

Having one cable on some power supplies can sometimes not provide the juice the card would need to draw and if it's not getting enough power the card would default in windows to be seen as a basic generic card. I still would contact support but it's something to try.

+1. Try re-seating your cable(s) going to the card and also try re-seating the card in the slot.

Yeah, already have done both. I have heard that one cable should be enough to power the card though, and also I have been using the card this way (functioning completely fine) for around 5 months after building my PC, only in the past couple weeks has it been playing up.
