Sounds like the common flu to me. FYI: The flu is a coronavirus. They are just making up fancy names for the flu now and trying to scare everyone IMO.

Fun Fact, Omicron does in fact rearrange to Moronic, but if you put the previous strain in the mix, (DELTA OMICRON) it's an anagram that spells Media Control.

Sorry to hear that. This is exactly the sort of thing almost nobody talks about - least of all the media. It really pisses me off hearing so many people say, "No worries, it's just a bad flu then you get over it." - but hundreds of thousands will never get over it because they have permanent serious lung damage that will mean medical issues for the rest of their lives, and most certainly shorten their longevity by at least a decade, maybe several decades. Many people who recovered and think they're fine are going to find out later in life that they too have suffered lung damage from this virus, and the worst thing about lung damage is that it's irreversible, and it only gets worse over time. This is NOT a freaking flu.

Sorry to hear about your friend and the person you knew who died. My Aunt passed away from the original Covid 19, she was the last person alive that I know on my mother's side of the family. My Mom and Dad have passed away also. Dad in 2000 and Mom in 2016, so yeah I take death causing issues seriously. However these new strains are nothing like the original Covid 19 from all the reports I have seen.

Austin, your nurse gets tested every workday and follows strict protocols. If she tests positive she goes home and isolated. Not all states require isolation for simple exposure. The CDC guidelines in fact do not recommend that except in cases where you cannot isolate from the Covid positive person (like a 7 year old with Covid who will still crawl all over you every chance) And that’s the difference.

austin86 I had a slight dry cough and that was it, I did not even think I had covid at the time and went about my day as usual.
Mine was a little rougher, two days in bed and wobbly for about a week. No biggy. I had the flu about 20 years ago and never had it again since, that flu was worse for me.

Chaos_21 Personally, I don't see things leveling out until this global pandemic is under control.
This never-ending pandemic will sure look pretty silly if some real scary disease starts spreading. Not to get political, but you have to wonder at some of it and wonder how things would have been different if it wasn't a US election year. A lot of fuss over not very much. Imagine ebola spreading. That, I could see causing chaos. A semi-worse global flu though? When will we stop making excuses and justifying things, instead of just letting things get back to normal? It seems to me that the people who are dragging this out usually have something to gain in the process. I get fear of the unknown and being cautious, but now that we know it well, why are we still doing these things?
The climbing infection rate that overruns our hospitals time and time again is what is dragging this out. There is nothing political about it.
I've seen ZERO evidence of "The climbing infection rate that overruns our hospitals time and time again".
Available ICU beds and hospitals at max capacity is always a major concern....this has been going on for 2 years...you don't watch the national news?
Max capacity in ICU beds is a floating number. And has been for most of the last 50 years. The appearance of dedicated "wards" is an artifact of a dead paradigm in hospital management.

Because it's 10x more deadly than the flu. The implication you're making is that you can survive by doing what you've always done. Meanwhile, athletes, kids, teenagers are dying. Are you saying that they aren't being healthy? And this fascination with the MSM being somehow to blame is bizarre. 5.26 MILLIONS of people around the world have died to this much more deadly strain. Do you think the MSM made this up? Do you think countries around the world are just like, oh we're not really sick but you can say that? I honestly don't understand why a pandemic is such a trigger point for politically motivated people. It's death and misery for millions of families, but somehow that's no big deal. SMH

Well.. Ty_ger07 is sort of correct ...he said it's not true the covid is 10x more deadly than the flu. Based on CDC numbers, it's more like 12x more deadly. Deaths in USA from flu per CDC (source: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html): 2010-2011: 37,000 2011-2012: 12,000 2012-2013: 43,000 2013-2014: 38,000 2014-2015: 51,000 2015-2016: 23,000 2016-2017: 30,000 2017-2018: 52,000 2018-2019: 28,000 2019-2020: 20,000 Average = 33,400 per year. Deaths in USA from covid per CDC (source: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm) 2020: 385,358 2021: 436,453 (estimated based on 400,082 deaths up to end of November, so 436,453 would be total for the year based on average from Jan-Nov). Average = 410,679 per year. so... 33,400 average from flu per year vs 410,679 average from covid per year = 12.3 times more deadly.

SMH
Please stop the strawman arguments. You have so many here. Nobody here is saying Corona isn't real or those numbers are made up. The argument is that it's blown out of proportion when you consider how few have caught it. Of the global population, 266 million people have been infected. That's 3.8% of the planet. Let that sink in. Of that 3.8% only %2.1 percent of those infected died. So it has a %97.9 survival rate. All death is tragic, yes. But millions also die from flu, colds, bronchitis, pneumonia every year. Why aren't we grinding the planet to a halt for those virus too? Did their deaths not matter? Or is it only people who die from covid whose life matters? Is it tragic? Heck yeah. Does it justify destroying the global economy out of knee jerk paranoia and over the top lockdowns and totalitarian mandates? Heck no.

lol that's my reaction to your maths comparing a 10 year statistic of an age old virus to a 2 year slice of a brand new one. You trust the MSM do you? I mean, they are unbiased and there is no way they would push a vaccine for monetary gain would they? Check the video at the top lol: https://www.realclearpoli...s_abc_cbs_nbc_cnn.html

I wasn't the one who made the comparison to start with... just showing the numbers to confirm someone else's claim that covid is 10x more deadly than the flu (plus I wanted to check it out for myself). Covid has only been around 2 years, so it's not a "slice" of data - it is all the data that is available for the entire existence of covid-19 - what else would you suggest I use for number of deaths from covid-19 other than, you know, the actual number of deaths from covid-19? Using 10 years of flu death records provides a reasonable average for use for comparison. lol.. so where's your beef with that? Again.. facepalm. lol. No I don't trust the MSM. The numbers are from the CDC, that's why I provided links. What has the MSM got to do with comparing deaths from covid-19 versus deaths from flu though? I didn't mention vaccines in those numbers (or politics, or MSM), it's just deaths. Another facepalm? Calm down man, lmao.

I'm chill. You're the one that sounds like his panties are in a knot. Give the corona flu 2000 years of mingling among the human race like the regular flu has, to see how low the numbers will eventually get. That's the point. You can't compare it that way, there isn't a fair and equal amount of data.
