Its a EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 card and its doing the following:

Windows is showing a error 43 under the 2080TI under device manager.
Its artifacting over the screen not in a space invaders pattern though, just lines.
Its also not letting set a screen res over 1920 X 1080.

I've pretty much tested all of that with no luck.

How long is a RMA likely to take? A Month or Two?

Better pray you dont live far from Cali as UPS ground is slow. turnaround time is excellent, shipping however will cost you 2+weeks if you live on the east coast.

I've just done a fresh install of Windows, Tested both BIOS's on the card, Both BIOS on my MB and its no different.

It's still showing a device error code 43 on the 2080 Ti device manager
The max res on a fresh install of Windows 10 is 1024 x 768
On boot you get the following output on the screen:

I am currently waiting on my RMA to be approved.

I was looking at this in a bit more detail last night and everything points to the memory or memory controller, as there are loads of sensors which have failed.

Just a quick update, I have received my replacement card from EVGA.

Excellent service from EVGA and the replace FTW3 card even has Samsung memory to my surprise, so very happy now.

I got my 2080ti back in october and it finally popped last saturday. Memory artifacting like crazy. Got approved for RMA and waiting on my card to show up.

Seems they're just a ticking time bomb to me. Never ran it hard.

these issues seems to appear online on a daily basis.

is the root cause for these problems figured out to this date? I have been waiting for a long time for a 2080 ti or a 2080 card and I am getting out of patience already but would like to know for sure before committing to a purchase. one thing is certain, will be a ftw 3.

To remedy your worries, most are fine tbh but you're only hearing about the bad.  What you should be looking at what EVGA stands for which is top notch customer service and an optional extended warranty to 5 or 10 years if the consumer wants.  I went with a 2080 Ti Black along with a 2080 Ti Hydro Copper and 10 year extended warranty on the GPU for peace of mind.

The point is, no matter what happens, you know you'll be taken care off as long as you're within your warranty.  What I would recommend to those that are holding back is, add the extended warranty of 5 or 10 years if you feel uncertain with this series or just hold off for another 1+ year till the next gen silicon is released.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

Thanks for the reply.

I know that EVGA has good customer support but I do not really like to send things RMA and wait and getting refurbished cards after. It is just a personal thing of mine.

Waiting is what I have been doing since the 1080 ti launch, then the mining prices/availability started and I kept delaying the purchase. Then 20 series launched and I delayed once more to see if prices decrease. This has got to a point where I do not really want to wait any longer! how many years waiting have been gone by now? :)

I have been looking to purchase directly from EVGA these past days but out of luck on availability (mainly looking to 2080 ti ftw 3). The 2080 super ftw 3 is also under my radar but from the looks of it, gains will be minimal compared to the regular 2080 so this is really pushing me towards 2080 ti. I have a 4k monitor that I want to use, my current card gives me an OK experience with it (have to play with settings of course) so I want to push a bit more. I also want to get a vr headset so the card is important.

one question, if I buy from another retailer, can I still get the extended 5 or 10 years warranty from EVGA? how do I get it? only registering and paying for the extension directly to EVGA? I never really applied to warranty extensions before but this is too much money to risk with all those rma stories on the web.

EDIT: just read that I need to register the card and pay for the extension. maybe I buy it from caseking.de website then, they have 2080 ti ftw 3 available and their price is not so bad.

QUESTION: I have an evga supernova 650W platinum, is this enough? processor is a 6700k overclocked to 4500Mhz, 32gb of ram overclocked to 3000Mhz.

No, best get an 850 Watt or 1000 Watt Power Supply GOLD or Higher.
Not lower than a 750 Watt with very little overclocking.

man, I thought the psu would be able to hold this, evga reccomends 650w as minimum.

spending this much on the card and more on the 850 to 1000 W psu is really pushing things lol

what if I use the card stock? no overclock? will the 650W platinum be enough? forgot to add that I have a noctua DH15 cooler for the processor, 3 more noctua fans (2 intake and 1 exhaust), 2 fans from the case (fractal define R5), 2 ssd's, 1 hdd, 1 blu ray drive. no led lights, the older I get the less leds.

It will be fine with no overclocking yes.
All on Air or Hybrid you would not be able to install a Custom Water Loop.
AIO CPU Cooler as well.

lol. I used this same system with a sapphire nitro + vega 64 that was overclocked to 1720Mhz and memory to 1100Mhz if I recall correctly and sometimes the card pushed 350W but this never gave me problems. I never registered the power supply here, bought it in 2016 on Amazon. too late for the step up program right? :)

Yeah that's what I thought too, after 9 months without issues, only for it to fail in exactly the same manner every single other RTX card has failed in. Has any 2080ti from august/septemper/october survived until today, in a verified way? I haven't seen it mentioned.

QUESTION: I have an evga supernova 650W platinum, is this enough? processor is a 6700k overclocked to 4500Mhz, 32gb of ram overclocked to 3000Mhz.

You should be ok with it tbh but I wouldn't go hard on OCing with it.

Will you have a boat load of things connected to the PC like multiple HDs, SSDs, M.2s, fans up the wazoo, RGBs everywhere, custom liquid cooling, etc?  If not, I still think 650w will be ok but you're cutting it close for OCing headroom in case you do some benchmarking and stuff when you completely forget you have a 650w PSU.  If you're not into all of that, you should be fine with your current PSU and a 2080 Ti FTW3.  Plus, most reputed PSU companies have protections in place so the worst thing that can happen is the PC shutting down, not to mention it's a EVGA PSU you have at your presence so you're good no matter what.

thanks for your reply. my system is very simple compared to what I see online, I do not really care about the rgb, etc.

I have:

- Intel i7 6700K overclocked to 4500MHz @ 1.27V (it goes higher but it makes noise so I kept it like that. never seen it consume more than 100W according to HWInfo software)
- Noctua NH-D15 cooler for the processor, stock fan curve
- Asus Z170-A motherboard
- 32 Gb Corsair Vengeance overclocked to 3000 MHz
- 2 Samsung SSD's (1 850Evo 120Gb + 1 860Evo 1Tb)
- 1 Western Digital 1Tb HDD Caviar Blue
- 1 Fractal Define R5 case with 2 fans (stock fan curve)
- 1 Pioneer BDR209DBK blu ray drive
- 2 Noctua NF-S14A ULN fans (stock fan curve)
- 1 Noctua NF-S14A FLX (stock fan curve)
- 1 USB bluetooth (like a pen drive)
- 1 USB receiver for my wireless keyboard and mouse
- 1 USB receiver for my Steam controller
- other USB's are used to connect my fanatec wheel and pedals, charge phone, etc etc).
- 1 EVGA SuperNova P2 650W Platinum

Maybe I should buy one of those little devices that measure the draw from the wall? how to these are called?

I knew I left something out from my last post but yes, you should grab those Kill-A-Watt as I have one for each of my two systems with just the PSU plugged into them.  That should give you an idea how close you are and how much headroom you have.

Overall tbh, your system looks fine for a 650w.  If you get the meter and you seem to be close in your biggest loads, than yes try going with something higher.   Many recommend higher because a lot of folks here game and bench hard so some can easily surpass 650w with flying colors. lol
