Too bad Step Up doesn't count any discounts except for the one you got buying your current card. I could have snagged a 3090 Ti for $212 plus shipping stepping up with my 3080 Ti.. Didn't make me mad, though, I doubt I'd be able to tell the difference unless I somehow needed more than 12GB vram.  I don't think I've played anything yet that came close to using all of that!
 
It is nice to see cards are finally available and dropping in price, though.. Hopefully the 40 series won't go through all that mining crap.

maybe, what is more likely imo is that just like with 30 series launch, they'll artificially starve supply after launch to drive up prices and encourage folks to either pay elevated prices or buy the remaining 30 series stock at higher prices. if you're waiting for a 40 series gpu but can afford a 30 series, my tip would be to buy something now while prices are low. there is no guarantee that you'll be able to buy a 40 series gpu. i think the 30 series FE cards are only readily available for purchase without competing demand in the last couple of drops at Best Buy here in the US. 
 
if i was sitting on a ton of stock, i wouldn't sell it all at a loss just because the next gen launch is coming soon. i'd wait and sell them after people can't buy a 40 series.

There's a very good possibility IMO that the 4090 will be 30-50% faster than the 3090Ti. AMD is possibly bringing their chiplet design to their GPUs, so Nvidia will likely be pushing performance as high as possible to keep their market share.

EVGA used to sometimes (not mandatory) choose to give people store credit for price drop occurrences. But with bucks being retired, how could store credit exist any more?
