I've got a 980ti Classified that I've had since early 2016 which is starting to flake out on me. Has anyone had any luck getting these repaired? Been on a waitlist for a 3080/3090 since September but missed the one email that was sent out while I was working a double and not had any luck with any of the signups since October so upgrading isn't really an option right now. Anyone have any luck getting an older card fixed? If so, what was the fee?

Might be more helpful if you told us what problems you are having. Second, we have no idea where you are. Third the odds of finding a repair shop doing it cost effectively, if you can even find one, is about zero.

Issue is consistent artifacts (think dozens of small randomly colored fuzzy squares) appearing after a couple minutes in game, particularly when it's warmed up a bit. Happens when I move it to my neighbor's desktop, and I've got an old GTX280 which I upgraded from that runs without any issues so I'm ruling out the motherboard from the mess. (Asrock x99x Fatality) Given your response I'm going to assume evga doesn't have any sort of repair service, and I'm left to try to find a 3rd party and live with the 280 for now, correct? Even though I'm in the New York City area, I don't imagine repair of video cards is a big 3rd party business.

You could see if the video card has any overclock on it. Also see if the bios of the motherboard has any overclock on it since it could cause issues on a faster clocked video card that didn’t show up on the older card.

Thanks for the advice! The system has never been overclocked, verified in Bios that it's all default settings, and downloaded X1 to make sure the card is stock as well. Besides having tested the card in another computer (my neighbor across the hall has a 1080, got to throw it in his machine to see and it made the same artifacts after a few minutes in game), I've verified the latest drivers in my machine, and given the moving to another entire computer/monitor/cables setup still results in the issue I'm assuming it's the card. Guess I'll wait it out and play on the switch until I get my turn on the waitlist again and hopefully not at work this time.

Yes. Correct they, EVGA, do not have a repair service. If you've accidentally knocked off a smd, you might find a shop that can do that. Finding one to troubleshoot and repair with no documentation, is a nonstarter. What you could try as a test, is using the Debug Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel. What this does is make the GPU run at the lower default clocks versus the higher classified clocks until you deselect it. Next. What are your temps? Have you considered changing out the TIM and the thermal pads on the memory. What you're describing reads like either the GPU is degrading, in which case underclocking might get you buy for awhile and a thermal issue which you might resolve by replacing the TIM and thermal pads.

Temps according to windows task manager and the precision X1 app are ~40C idle, ~74C in game, both fans are working well, and the case is kept clean (not lab clean, but it never gets dusty)... It worked great since 2016 until last August when this started to happen without being moved or touched, so I can't imagine anything got knocked off, only time I've taken the card out since installing it was to put it in another computer to test. I'll check into getting new thermal pads for the memory and underclocking it. Hopefully that helps, as it seems to mainly be an issue when it warms up. Hopefully GPUs become more available in the near future, this is painful.

Sorry I wasn't implying you had damaged the card. Just what options were available. Die temp is not that reliable especially with old TIM. There's only one temp sensor used on the die and if you have a void you'd could still see normal temps. Voids are just about guaranteed with any TIM application over time. I already had to redo my 1080 Ti. Artifacts on screen however are usually VRAM related versus a driver crash which more often GPU core related. By underclocking the core and memory separately and testing you should be able to divine which is failing.
