luckily we literally just setup two new 100TB servers Many of the older server are only 15T
We plan to offload stuff to the cloud as soon as something can be set up but some preliminary analysis will be required before it's useful to other organizations.

Per their most recent post, they've generated a bunch of new WU's, but who knows if that's enough: https://foldingforum.org/...=2&t=32424#p312968by » Sun Mar 15, 2020 12:40 am50k WUs have been added to 140.163.4.231 / plfah1-1.mskcc.org and 60k more are being generated on 140.163.4.241 / plfah2-1.mskcc.org. Work generation has higher priority than WUs distribution, so you'll see the new work units flowing from these servers as soon as generation is finished.

I have 2 gpu's running and one of them has been on "ready" for the past few hours. I think they should add more WUs to the server.

Nobody can compete with companies donating entire render farms and data centers over to Foldingbat Home. Per Twitter and other sources they just can't keep up with the demand fornmorenwork units.

I think their servers are just horribly overloaded right now due to everyone wanting to help out with CV19, I've been able to get WU's, but I haven't been able to upload the results today, I keep getting error: 20:02:33:ERROR:WU01:FS01:Exception: Failed to connect to 140.163.4.231:80: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

For the first time in more than 10 years I have shutdown my folding-system(s), because for more than 10 hours of trying I could not get new work (I will try again tomorrow). Hopefully more servers will come online in the next 24 hours. I can see that they are busy with preparing at least 2 other servers with Coronavirus projects (probably all copies of 11741-46): - Workserver 155.247.164.213 with Core22 projects P11753-58 - WorkServer 128.252.203.10 with Core22 projects P11759-64 See Project summary page and Server Stats page Edit: I tried one more time before going to bed and I got a P11759 WU from WS 128.252.203.10 on one of my cards, my other card still no new WU. Edit 2: I just got a P11758 WU from WS 155.247.164.213 on my other card.

Welp... I take that back, I'm also now unable to get WU's... Hopefully it'll get resolved tomorrow when everyone is on campus.

Was just coming here to say this. They should be used to host and assign work units on top of doing said work.

Maaaaaany! Both download and upload being affected and with point decrease. At least the work units are getting completed. I switched my cpu's on to Rosetta so the rigs aren't completely idle, they have mixed in some covid 19 wu's as well.

@ darksun20 The points are really a lot of times just used as a gauge of sorts in discussion of the work. We're not used to see our equipment running idle. I hope it is resolved so we all can help, whatever that role is. The corona units would be great, I would go for any.

Hey, darksun20: I spend over $500 in electricity bills each year running up to three PCs FOR THE CAUSE, and not for the points! It is for the good of humanity that I do my small part to further medical science in the eradication of any type of disease. Your insinuation that I am a "point-monger" is unfounded.

diatribe Is the lack of work units due to the increased public awareness of Covid-19?
Yes. Also, Coreweave (a "HUGE render farm" company) has tossed over 6000 of their Tesla GPUs out of their 45,000 GPU farm into the mix, but the BIG jump has been due to the effort by the Folding project to 'get the word out' to gamers and the like that they can help with COVID research. The result has been that work units are going out almost as fast as they are generated, leaving the work servers with nothing to give clients more of the time than not. Folding appears to have added more new users in the last week than in the entire time the project has EXISTED prior to this month. Optimally, the folks that generate the work units will get serious about generating a LOT of them over the next few days - but I anticipate the problem getting WORSE before it gets better, as the recruiting efforts have not stopped.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Default team 0 is what the client uses if you don't put a team number in. Anomymous is what it uses if you don't put a user name in. The numbers here are due to MANY MANY THOUSANDS of new users installing the client on their machines, or running the Chrome-based webclient but not knowing enough to bother with teams or use IDs I would not be shocked if the number was in the HUNDRED THOUSAND range of new folders that did this, I would be only MILDLY amazed if the actual number was over a million - but there is no way to tell for sure. When you have that many clients asking for work, even a "fair" distribution is going to be slanted towards them HARD. If Coreweave was getting work units consistently, THEY would be pushing ballpark 12,000,000,000 (12 BILLION) PPD instead of a few hundred million - that's how badly the work assignment servers are RUNNING SHORT ON UNITS due to the massive response. I'd suspect that they DID in fact install a passkey - but are having the same "out of work units" issues the rest of us are having. For perspective, Team Curecoin has probably had ballpark 500 GPUs assigned to the project for most of the last 3-4 months (presuming 1080 ti level cards on average).
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

I have the exact same problem with one of my jobs not being able to upload to 155.247.164.213 for the past few days because on https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats -> 155.247.164.213 is only assigning jobs right now. Maybe they'll update 155.247.164.213 to start accepting results sometime soon or redirect the results to a server that's accepting them.

Per Twitter they are getting new cloud servers going. Just a lag in getting the software and configs loaded. Hopefully this will go live soon. Calm down everybody and try go relax. Try not go focus on the computer right now. I know it's hard but it's very important not to stress out in these times. It just makes everything seem worse and can have a negative effect on your heakth.
I'm happy my system can help and welcome all work it can get.

ipkha Per Twitter they are getting new cloud servers going.
Amen. Sucks I'll miss out on points for a bit; but it's not that big of a deal!! I'm more impressed by the rest of the world folding for the cause than I am about wanting EVGA bucks on my account.
