Not sure how many just went up but NVIDIA sold out of 3080 FE's in 2 minutes.
 
Got one in the cart so I'll consider that a moral victory.

Right when their stock posted I went for a 3080 and my brother went for the 3090. He got one. The 3080 was a lost cause. I got one in the cart but the checkout froze.

I actually havent seen it available once on amazon either. i did get it in my newegg cart once

 
Like I have said before.. I don't buy used equipment and this frenzy will result in used 3000 series equipment being flooded throughout the retail industry when people decide that they wanted a different brand or level of card.
 
So, some time next year, say March or April.  When the stock is available.  If I get my EVGA step up card at that point and its clearly used I am going to make sure its replaced with a new card.  Not joking here.  I want a new card, not a refurbished or recertified one.  I don't want a warranty return.  
 
Now if the step up thing gets canceled I will automatically be looking at other brands and buying from Newegg or Amazon.. so if the card is clearly used it goes right back and there is no hassle.  I will also just not buy ever again from EVGA.
 
I won't pay scalpers, I won't pay for someone's used card that decided they wanted a different brand or had issues.

how is it going to take 5 months for stock to be available and for you to have step up? lol

Well, I only applied for step up two days ago.  People have been reporting on here that they are seeing indications of Late January for their card and they applied 3 weeks ago.  I haven't even got past step 1.  So I am estimating.. I am so far behind that its likely a 6 month wait.    And with all these cards going out you know some will be going back used, broken used, not wanted used.  
 
I am ok with the wait to an extent.. I am not ok with used equipment.  I have yet to see that ever happen with EVGA.. but.. these are very odd times.  
 
People are paying 3k for a 3080 and 4 or 5k for a 3090 on ebay.. thats more then my entire setup!

It's well beyond pathetic at this point. 

Whatever you do don't buy from Scalpers on Ebay. That is what is causing this problem and making it worse.
 
Also just because the 3000 Series cards are out does not mean that the 2000 series cards are not good, they still game very well. I would just focus on getting a good deal from a good seller that you know you can trust if you want to pick up a 2080 Ti. I would say $600 would be a reasonable amount if you desperately need a GPU now. Because let's face it, we all tried getting a 3080 and 3090 on launch day but most of us could not, So what makes you think the 3070 launch will be any different. Then you gotta ask yourself how many people that could not get the 3070 will suddenly look to getting a 2080 Ti and when that happens the prices of the 2080 Tis will go up a little more.
 
So until stock gets more reasonable you could game on a 2080 Ti then sell it say in like December then get a 3080 or 3090 when it is easier to buy. That seems like a good strategy for people without a Graphics Card.

I will just be patient and wait while Samsung hopefully continues to increase NVIDIA GPU production.

Yeah, I moved into the automated purchasing realm. If you can't beat em, join em. I'll take the single card I can get and count my wins.

I think the 3070 launch will be more of a **** show, even with more inventory. But Doing that Drop right after the amd card launch might lighten the load, tho is a very cocky move IMO.

I definitely have to agree. I've given up trying to beat the machines. I'll get an Asus TUF 3080 or FE 3080 when the time is right. And yes I love EVGA products, but most of my cases are SFF and I know the Black edition coolers are way louder than the FTWs or TUFs. Plus I can deshroud the Asus cooler and slap 2 Noctua fans against it.
