So here's my deal.   I had been furloughed from March 17 to June 25th.    My UI payments were happening nicely right up until memorial day on May 25th.    My company policy is to pay us for this day.   Of course this means that during the UI form week of May 25th I had to record the earnings of that in the "Week 1" payment information which requires Company Name, How much, Reason no longer working etc,  which I FILLED OUT TO THE FULL.

Of course I didn't earny any money on a date during Week 2 of the form, so assume to leave that blank, correct? Why fill it out if no money was earned with Week 2?    Twice in a row now they keep sending my form back saying "REASON NO LONGER WORKING WAS NOT COMPLETED"   But it WAS, I wrote it clearly in the Week 1 section "Furloughed due to corona virus".

Am I supposed to put in a bunch of 0.00 for Week 2 and fill out those blanks as well just to not spaz out a computer somewhere? Thanks.   I am now back owed six weeks of UI pay due to this and I'm hurting, like many others are.  Any advice appreciated.

You cant leave anything blank unless it does not apply. You have to write down 0.
Please do it asap. Money that doesnt come in to your pocket equals zero nada zip

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I figured I'd try that if they reject it a third time.  Each rejection seems to take 14 days. It sucks.

When you certify, don't put that you returned to work, select something else ( I can't recall the options, but there's like 6 different options) and in the "notes" right under, explain how they paid you 1 day for the holiday.

It's a real mess over there right now, they're taking forever to approve money. They owe my sister $12,000 because they rejected her claim then later approved it and had all the weeks backed up and it's been nearly 2 weeks.

Ouch, 12,000? Don't give up fighting for that one.

I have only been getting forms in the mail.  I have never seen anything on the form that mentioned certification.   The question "Reason no longer working" is only part of the questionaiire if you earn something. Normally I'd been leaving them black all this time because I wasn't getting anything until Memorial day.

Funny enough as soon as I came to respond to this I get a text saying "EDD Alert: You must certify for past benefit weeks that were automatically processed.  Learn more:"  Then gave a link and a URL.  After putting in my personal info it wanted certification for the weeks starting 29th March and whatever the date of the next week was.   But no others.  Huh?

That is indeed weird, but I would certify strictly online as there's more options and more information by doing so.

How do you do that please?  The only option I get online is it takes me to page to open a new UI claim.   You'd think it would know I have an existing one yeah?  Thank you for helping.

It should give you an option to add an existing claim. If not, call the EDD and tell them. Give them your EDD Customer Number (Account number) so they can link them.
