Is it just me or this monitor meant to be REALLY bright? Like the brightness is making you almost want to squint and the colours are so vibrant they look burning/glowing?

Also hard to game on it for more than 30 mins without getting a headache.  Never had this happen to me in 35 years of gaming.

Most modern monitors have brightness to spare.  You need to tune yours for your ambient light levels.  Also check your color range settings in the nvidia control panel and don't be afraid to adjust gamma.

I have PG279Q. The brightness and contrast are adjustable here, I have mine set to 30 and 40, respectively.

Color temp is set to user mode with all values maxed out. Blue light filter is off and OverDrive is set to normal.

Here's an article on the Asus PG279Q that I used to get calibration close and adjusted a little to my setting/likeness.

Thanks for the links I think after hours of tinkering I've finally got it to where it doesn't feel like lasers burning my eyes out :)

Also does anybody know what the Display Port that comes with it is?  I wanted to set a custom resolution of 5120x2880 DSR (Exactly 2x resolution of native res) so I could play old games with a high, clear DSR resolution.   But no matter what I do it just won't go to it.   Is it because I need a DP 1.4? Thanks

For 5120x2880 you'll need to enable 4x DSR factor. 2x will limit you to 3620x2036px.

I think I learned that you don't need a 1.4 because it's still coming through the cable at 1440p, even though it's being sampled to 5120?

Either way, it wouldn't go.  It worked when you did the test part and it asks you do you want to stay at this resolution, but when you click accept it goes back to native 1440p
