I have owned https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6161-KR for i think over a year now.

It is nice and all...but dear lord the temps..

Idling it is 35-41c

WoW @1920x1080 on medium settings it hits mid 60's-70's.

OW on low graphic and its hitting mid 60's

some steam games that require MUCH lower powered gpu can make it hit 70-80c.

I know, didnt know til months after i bought it, the heatsink is not very good on that model from reviews :/

Any way to buy just the heatsink (like the sc version one as iirc its copper and not just aluminum)?
If not what would be best option available?

Are you running the stock fan profile? The GPU is designed to run at ~80C by default under load. It's been this way for quite some time pretty much across the board except for the Hybrid or Hydrocopper models. My 1080 Ti with the default fan profile would hit 70-75C gaming until I put the Hybrid on it. Important things also are your ambient temps (room temps) and case airflow.
You can't buy, from EVGA anyway, just the heatsink.  This guy...did something...

nah. Even at idle 40c my custom fan curve is at 50%. 60c is 70%, 70c is 80% and so on.. (had a support in early on as my card was idling at 60c when 1st got it and hitting near 90c in WoW on stock settings)

I would have first changed the thermal paste and if that didn't work, RMA'd the GPU if it was hitting 90C on stock settings.

No Need to RMA that card, as it's known to have a crappy heat sink. A fellow user has the same card and you can check out the dinky heat sink at post #4.

If you have a spare AIO, try to get the NZXT Kraken G12 or if you don't want to spend too much, get any of the accelero aftermarket heat sink and fans.

Look at the Accelero mono plus or Twin Turbo 2 or the S3 together with the S3 Turbo Module.
