If you're a VR gamer, have you noticed any great improvements in games that have been giving you trouble? If you don't have the card yet, what games do you need the extra power to play? For me: Assetto Corsa Competizione IL-2 No Man's Sky The big one is MSFS 2020 in VR but the VR update is not out yet. But I don't expect any card to be able to hit 90fps on High settings because of the CPU bottleneck.

I have been wondering this as well. My 970 is struggling obviously. None of the reviews have even mentioned VR performance. As far as games, MFS 2020 as well as boneworks. My 970 wrecks my stomach with the stuttering in bone works.

I've got a Valve Index and my 3090 is supposed to be here Wednesday. If you've not found anything by then, I'll report how I feel about it
No benchmarks tho

I am most curious about feedback about VR with the 30XX cards. Hopefully this purchase improves the Index's performance dramatically.

@MowTin, any chance you could let us know what card you have now and what resolution on the monitor?
I had MSFS 2020 for about 6 hours and uninstalled it plus it is not VR, as you pointed out. But I do have a VR flight simulator program I will try, if I ever get a card!!!

My 1080ti chewed through most VR titles with ease on a valve index. 3000 series should be no problem. I am curious on the performance on the 4K VR headsets though

Also subscribing. I currently use a 1080 ti with a Rift CV1 and have had no issues. Would be nice to push frames higher in demanding titles, though.

I cant wait to get my hands on a 3090 for VR, i use prepar3d flight sim in VR and currently stuck at low aa settings and my 11gb of vram maxed out with my 1080ti getting 25 fps.

I've been wanting a 3090 in large part for VR, gotta get that super sampling! I have been running SLI 2080 Ti's, but very few games utilize SLI in VR. Serious Sam games, and you can get some wicked resolution with two 2080 Ti's, gonna be kinda sad having to reduce the settings going to a 3090 lol, but almost everything else should get some improvements. At least from what I understand the super high resolutions should benefit greatly from these new cards even more than 4K would, I mean, I'm not 100% sure what resolution I'm gaming at, but with super sampling it's well above 4K in many instances. I have a Rift S.

3090 XC3 Ultra here with 8k+ and Index. I've been too busy messing with computer hardware itself to play in VR recently but if you're got a VR-ish benchmark in mind I'm happy to run it for y'all.

It's ok, but it has revealed that I also need to upgrade my 2600, as I suspect that I'm cpu bound now in many demanding games.

yeah im keen for info here, though its going to be a race, iv got a 3090 ftw3 ultra on order BUT.... i dont know where i am in the stack, so it could be whenever....
just to say... iv got a 2080ti FTW 3 and i use occulus Quests. i use the Virtual Desktop app so its fully played over Wifi.
but on a couple of games especially on Half Life Alyx it gets a message that its out of VRAM, the game runs nicely,
the Quest doesnt have the craziest specs, though im considering the Quest 2 for the same reasons. full wireless..... it just saves tripping over everything tbh.

I've never had an issue with my 2080 Ti playing VR games on a Samsung Odyssey+. Unfortunately, NVIDIA cut the USB-C vr connection so I haven't had a chance to try it out. I've used a USB-C adapter to add about 10' of cord. I will have to dig out the HTC Vive Link box.
I haven't even thought about trying my 3090 with VR. Is there any games that they Odyssey+ would be push enough to show results? I have a ton of VR titles that I can try out.

Yeah I am really curious on VR performance comparing 3090 to 3080.
I am tempted with the 3090 (FTW3 Ultra) however that big price difference kind of a tough pill to swallow.
Then on the 3080 I would be going backwards in amount of Vram, my 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra has 11 GB.

That's my concern as well. The 3080 will blow my 980 out of the water, but my 8700k will be on the cusp of CPU limitations in some games.
