i can understand evga's stance, this is a hardware computer forum with customers from all types of different geo-political backgrounds, feelings get hurt, things get said and everyone blames evga and takes their business elsewhere, thats just not fair to evga so the rule was made way back when this forum first started.

It's hard to agree with you on that point because most, if not all websites/forums prohibit discussions of this nature. The reason? They don't want to be held accountable for things that are said when the discussion turns sour or impassioned.

That is also the reason forums exercise moderation. Moderators personify the authority that keeps the peace. When someone resorts to blatant name calling which clearly has no merit, they can have a 2 week or month long vacation. When someone acts like a belligerent child in general they can have a 2 week, etc...

My point is that outright censorship is not a good idea regardless of venue and primary subject matter. Hence the reason we have a general discussion section. In addition there are better ways of controlling discussions and the infectious slander that evolves from certain, sensitive deliberations. Talking about an event but not being able to debate/identify the reasons for it, is rather ineffective as a problem solving stratagem.

i understand what you are saying but i like not being bombarded with all the geo political stuff here, i get enough of that from FB and the news sites. this is more of a refuge to get away from all that were most of us enjoy the hobby of pc hardware and not which political hack said what.

...Ok, so because YOU don't want to be deluged by political banter you agree with mass censorship? You do realize you could simply circumnavigate the sections of the forum with which you have an issue and seek refuge (safe space???) where these particular issues are not present.

Maybe you should be taking responsibility instead of expecting others to cater to your needs. Why should forum moderators or administrators censor subject matter because some people don't want to deal with something they can simply avoid?????

Again, this is why there is a "General Discussion" section which does not conflict with PC hardware/software reviews, which is its intended purpose. Other, completely inane topics no one feels should be censored or exiled yet anything to do with politics or real life tragedies is frowned upon. You might want to evaluate the way you see things.

it has nothing to do with me "taking responsibility" and has everything to do with rules and this being EVGA's house, they are not a government body so the first amendment does not apply, take a civics class and you will see that. it would be the same thing that if i came to your house and did what i wanted because, well i can do it other places, nevermind your rules about it.

So after multiple terrorist attacks in the space of a couple of weeks, there's then an accidental apartment building fire that tragically takes a number of lives. Today I see there are protests screaming for 'justice' over the fire. No protests about the terror attacks. There's something seriously wrong with that picture. It could almost seem like the UK has given up the fight against terrorism and just accepted it like a bunch of dumb sheep. Oh, and citizenry are calling for their sitting Prime Minister to step down - because of the fire, not because of the multiple acts of terrorism.

I am aware that there is anger over some management company not acting on tenant's complaints about the building. There is currently no indication that the fire was started deliberately.

+1. unfortunately that is what the world is coming to, i get the outrage of the fire to an extent but sad to say they do happen. i did read something about the government requiring them to do work on the outside because it looked bad but nothing about it not having a sprinkler system, which sad to say there are a lot of building that dont because they were grandfathered in.

Sprinkler system, fire walls, fire doors, fire dampers built in the duct work, fire dampers and fire seals in the pipe chases.
I do not know how old, or what the building codes are or were when it was built. But
Sure looked like it was built without all the modern fire suppression tech used today.

Do you see fire in London tower... Buiding didn't collapse. People debate on net again.
That's evidence that George Bush blow up Twins in New York with help or Rotschield family and Masons.
They want to build new world order with alien race and people will serve like slaves.

When I saw that building stay after extensive fire immediately I start to think on people who spread non sense over net and who will now have more material for their sick debate and conspiracy theories. It's terrible what happen in London. Fire was in extremely nice part of London, many people wished to live there and to have apartment in middle of London, me example among many others.

Well people are stupid, I did not see a jet hit that building at 500MPH filled with thousands of pounds of jet fuel.
Totally different construction, the WTC was built way different from that apartment complex.
Can't fix stupid.
