I have a gaming system working away with F@H but I would like to start gaming on it.  I have two GTX1080ti's in it but not SLI'ed due to the fact they are folding at the moment.  My problem is I do not have a (good) monitor yet.  I will be doing mainly FPS gaming on this rig as I have a separate sim pit multi screen project/rig in progress for the likes of Mechwarrior and Elite Dangerous.

I would like G-sync and high refresh rate but would ultra wide be worth the huge jump in price just for FPS games and some occasional RTS?  Also are there still QC issues with these things? I really don't want to be in a cycle of returns until I get a good one.  Looking for some recommendations of 27" or bigger and preferably IPS.  Something that would justify using a 1080ti or two.  A list of feature priorities 1 being the more important quality I am looking for.  Looking for the best bang for buck while hitting as many of the listed qualities as possible.

1.  1440P or higher rez
2.  IPS Panel
3.  27" or bigger
4.  Refresh rate 120hz+
5.  G-Sync
6.  Ultra Wide

IMHO the Dell S2716DG is great. It's a TN panel but very nice TN. Can be had for $500 @ Microcenter right now, http://www.microcenter.com/product/458837/s2716dg_27_led_g-sync_gaming_monitor goes on sale for $400-$450 pretty regularly. All the IPS 27 G-syncs are at least a few hundred more and from what I've seen you have a decent chance of backlight clouding, if you go IPS try to find one local so it's easy to swap.

I think the only G-sync ultrawide that will come close to your budget is a 2560x1080 one. E.g. https://www.amazon.com/Ac...speakers/dp/B01A0FEBXQ
    You're looking at $1,000+ for 3440x1440 100 Hz G-sync.

Happened to have pulled the trigger on the Dell UltraSharp 27" U2718Q myself, those seem to be rather good for what they do from what I hear.  Of course, if you do take the 4K plunge, that could be a good start.
