"Officials at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas told ABC News that it had at least 20 victims with gunshot wounds right now, with the number expected to grow. The hospital did not provide information on the victims' conditions."     Link

I have watched a couple of videos, and it sounded like machine gun fire. Rapid succession shots. Sounded like near and far shots. I wonder if there's more than one shooter.

I can't believe that the situation is non-active now, the videos I had seen there was more than 1 type of rifle being fired, it's not the gun shots echoing off of buildings either, you can hear distinctly two different caliber rifles\guns being used.

The psychology of the herd right now is their world is crap, so they want to drag everyone else down to their level. Most people want to see the world burn, not improve it. It's the cancer of modern society.

This one hits a bit close to home. My cousin's step sister was there with a group of friends. While my cousin's step sister is fine, one of her friends was killed. I am just brokenhearted right now. There is a hole in all of our lives that needs to be filled with love, and there is only one source of true unconditional love. I heard on the radio that this guy (the shooter) had all kinds of weapons there.

It's reported that he committed suicide.

A Federal firearms dealer sold him some weapons after he passed a back ground check.

I'm guessing that he had this planned for some time.

    Terrible violence. Just terrible.

Prayers for the victims and their families. Senseless deaths...

I heard a report that there were 19 weapons in the hotel room but no automatic weapons were found, so i'm going with he had bump stocks on his weapons. For those that don't know what it is, google it, i'm sure you'll find videos or something. I'm not one for gun control per say in the manner of taking people's firearms away, but methods to make legal semi automatic weapons fully automatic should certainly be illegal. It serves no purpose for typical sport shooting and I hope in light of this tragedy something is done about this.

Additional prayers for the shooters family. I can only imagine the media and investigatory swarm headed their way.

Like clock work, it hasn't been 48 hrs, we already see select media outlets calling for stronger gun laws. That wouldn't do anything to prevent evil people from hurting/killing other people. In Nice (France), 86 people were killed when a person drove a large box truck into a crowd of people.

We have to be careful in this thread not to push it into the areas of politics. Political posts are prohibited.

The best thing that can be done now is to try and support the victims and their families. As an example a blood drive for the victims has taken place. There is more than can be done.

I will just say this......that this situation was uncannily timely. On the first, ARS ran this article, and so did many other media outlets, https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/10/3d-print-a-serial-free-handgun-at-home-with-the-latest-ghost-gunner-update/   Then I have to ask why a 64, 68?, year old man whos probably getting SS and retired, able to live a nice life, would go up to the 30th floor, over 300 feet in the air, of a hotel to randomly spray bullets and try to hit people with all the obstacles in the way with no way to escape. During a Harvest Fest concert no less?!?! I guess these country and western types are crazy violent people, lol. Im sure it will come out that this was a death wish and that he wasn't even a legal firearm owner, but that's not going to matter to the zealots who don't understand the deeper underlying damage a 2nd amendment nullification would do.

Like clock work, it hasn't been 48 hrs, we already see select media outlets calling for stronger gun laws. That wouldn't do anything to prevent evil people from hurting/killing other people. In Nice (France), 86 people were killed when a person drove a large box truck into a crowd of people.

Mentioning the 2nd amendment is getting close to making this a political thread. Please let's keep politics out of this thread or we may have to start editing and/or deleting posts.

Just because people mention 2nd amendment, that doesn't mean it's political.

Hey man, don't poke the bear now, lol.
In all fairness, it is in the forums rules, and he is a forum moderator asking people nicely to not make a political thread, lets be better and leave it at that :)

+1. I am asking people to be careful when they post and not to allow this thread to stray into political territory. Based on past history when someone mentions 2nd amendment on these forums political posts come soon afterward so I am trying to make sure that doesn't happen by being proactive.
