Yep, I got a timeout load twice during the PayPal stage. I really got my hopes up. I was doing next day shipping and everything.

Can I ask a simple question - Why are you so pissed off like this never happened before? Is it so big problem to buy the RTX 3080 in a few days time when stocks get up and running again or am I missing something here for not buying this GPU at the same moment it "got out"? Will the next batches be worse than first? Please, enlighten me. Tnx.

Do you really expect stocks to be up and running again in a few days? Most of us will probably be waiting months before we are able to actually buy a card.

Actually reported from reputable "industry insiders" (rumors/leaks) are that the nVidia "Founders Edition" 2nd batch will indeed be worse than the first--- by 2-5%.

Oh the tragedy. I waited GTX 1070 for 4 months in 2016 and I lived thru. It was basically the same thing as today. But obviously less and less patience in people as time go by. Sad. Hendrickhere Folks are just disappointed is all. Venting helps since we all feel let down.
Does it helps to vent on EVGA staff and employers? Celticlord

And the 3rd batch will be on Turing level I suppose... oh come on. 2nd Batch will have 20GB on 3080 ;)

MowTin Did anyone on this forum get a card? I may be interested in a 3090 but if it's like the 3080 release, it's hopeless. I'll just wait.
I would not anticipate the experience with the 3090 being any different. Set your expectations. There were two failures today. One, we expected that companies that made significant profits off of the 20xx series from inflated prices and useless crypto mining sales would have improved their ability to launch a product with a reasonable amount of supply. The second is that we expected that EVGA would have an adequate interface for customers to purchase items from them. Yes, many sites were overwhelmed and unresponsive, but I have not seen complaints regarding other sites that customers who had items in their cart lost them while finalizing the check out process. I've posted this before, but if you were at a physical retail store and had an item in your shopping cart and while walking to the front to pay another customer seized it out of your cart, you would be upset. You would report the situation to a manager and expect them to correct it if there were no more items in inventory for you. This situation is no different.

The second batch has already been produced or is in production now. By the time AMD does its release in Oct., we'll be a few batches in.
The price point on the 20GB card is gonna put us right back up at $1200.00 imo

I'm genuinely curious to hear your stories cuz I'm hearing everywhere else the online stores were a ****show of problems. In fact I already heard just in my town the local Best Buy's never even received any shipments whatsoever and didn't even notify the fools camping outside till 10 minutes before they opened haha.

Very difficult to say, I was here on EVGA at 9am eastern, I am in that time zone. Site at 9am seemed like it was under a DDOS attack, no server availability, errors sighting lack of internet access at the site. I know there are a lot of people trying but this seemed like a consistent and methodical event. I saw cards like they were available for brief seconds but then I would get "Internet not available" to the website and lose connectivity to evga.com. Also was on newegg, but their servers and connectivity are a little more robust. But even with being able to see the product pages I never saw anything but out of stock.
Do I look like a mushroom?. No, then why do you keep me in the dark?. An informed consumer is a happy one.

"Rain Checks" are a thing. It would at least secure your spot when more become available. It would require staffing and infrastructure and affect the bottom line to implement. Insert cynicism.

I completely disagree. Your cart is your cart. This is why ticket master and airlines reserve your item for a specific amount of time, display a counter in your check out process and require you to complete your transaction in that amount of time before releasing your item to the general public. Just because you cannot think of a better way to tackle a problem doesn't mean one doesn't exist. Great companies should always strive for excellence. EVGA can either be great, adapt and grow, or be horrible and push customers away. NPS exists for a reason and you'll notice it is valuable to companies as many companies are asking the same question. Learn from the greatness of others, learn from the mistakes of others and yourself. Never stop learning and improving.

Just know, where there's resell value, there will be bots AND people waiting early in the morning and refreshing non-stop ALONGSIDE real customers trying to purchase things. My nephew buys and sells shoes, when shoes drop, the same thing happens. You need to be QUICK to beat them, I'm talking, purchase within the SECOND its released.

I had multiple windows up, on multiple monitors, and I refreshed at 08:59 EST 09:00EST 09:01EST and every second of every minute in that range. The website was crashed and non responsive, it was taking items out of my cart and not letting me buy it. No. I WAS "within the SECONDS" it's released. And still didn't get one. Either due to poor website and server infrastructure, botting, poor supply, or a combination of all three.

Sadly the 3090 launch will be worse now. These scammers / trolls / bots will be worse. The same thing happened with the PS5 launch and Best Buy. Bots brought the site down and they took up the stock. With Covid this will be more of an issue. More people stuck at home, more people relying on tech, lots of high profile gaming tech launching in a short period of time.

On one hand I agree, the people who missed out are going to spend their time looking into how to get linked up with the places that do premade bots, so they can get a card. On the other hand, with the price tag being $1400... that will thin the competition from a lot of potential buyers... The downside is that the people who do bots and mass buys are the ones with all the cash. Hopefully though its still tied up with their 3080s, and they havent been able to liquidate them that fast so they wont have as much available cash... hopefully...

It's sad that so many people used bots to destroy this launch. I was trying to buy two and sell the second one at cost for a lucky guy that didn't get one at launch unfortunately I got none while others are getting 50+ units. Sad Day:(
