1 hour before trying to boot again, the top left hand side started burning with smoke coming out of it.

Let me quote "built to perfection".

Ok. I asked because I had a seasonic power supply that refused to work with EVGA motherboards in the past. The motherboard would either not respond or it would click once and not boot after.

Using exact same power supply on another system with no issues, the motherboard also shorted out my fans.

    Hello,

In the video I didn't see an indication of smoke. I am unable to find any contact with us regarding this as well. Would you be able to give us any information about what may have happened prior to this happening?

Sound like an unsupported Power Supply, Mostly Corsair AX Models.
I would test with a Non-Corsair Power Supply.

Using exact same power supply on another system with no issues, the motherboard also shorted out my fans.

I have 1 Corsair AX 1200i and 4 now EVGA 1300 G2 Power Supplies that work fine on the X79 X99 Motherboards without any problems.
But none of them would power on my X299 Dark Motherboard and I have tested this On 3 of them and One X299 FTW K Motherboard and Nothing.
Put them back in the X79 and X99 Rigs and all are running Great.
So because it works on one does not mean it will work on another, at least when it comes the EVGA X299 Dark Motherboard.

"the motherboard also shorted out my fans." Their is one Header that looks like a Fan Header but is NOT on the EVGA X299 Dark Motherboard

Re-Check your Motherboard Stand Offs, maybe one shorting out the Motherboard.

Hopefully my power supply is supported by my Z390 Dark when it arrives. Lol.

I do not own one of the Z390 Motherboards so I cannot say one way or the other.
Best of luck with your Motherboards.

Ok. I asked because I had a seasonic power supply that refused to work with EVGA motherboards in the past. The motherboard would either not respond or it would click once and not boot after.

My Seasonic 650 Platinum works fine without any problems.

7820x delided-Evga x299 Dark, Noctua NH-D15, Corsair Venegance 3446 32 Gb, Intel Optane 900P 280 Gb, Saphire Radeon 5700XT, SB Creative AE-5, Seasonic Prime Platinum 650W, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2

Very cool for you. Doesn’t address the issues in the past.
