This is an odd one for me, as I've never seen or heard anything like it before. The monitor is 34 months old, warranty expires after 36 months. What I've noticed over the last couple of days is text on websites pulses, like a heart beat, when the refresh rate is at 144mhz. At 120mhz it stops doing this, but 144mhz it pulses about 90 times a minute.

At first I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me but once I changed to 120mhz the pulsing with text stopped. I don't notice this in game but browsing a forum like this with lots of text..pulse, pulse, pulse...it's like the text bulges and recedes and I mean ALL of the text which is a little worrying on a forum.

Anybody ever heard of this before?

Yeah, mine never did that before either. I've never even heard of that. I thought I was hallucinating at first  My wife confirmed it when she saw the same thing.

Mine doesn't do that, and I'm the 2nd owner. I'd be getting that RMA underway asap with just 2 months left on it - it would be just like ASUS to try and drag their feet and then claim it's no longer covered by warranty.

I'm wondering though, since I recently changed driver versions, if it's not related to that.

Whatever it is, bizarre describes it for sure. The whole screen stays normal but only text bulges, recedes to normal, bulges, etc. It looks like a text hearbeat lol.

Let me try changing the drivers tonight and see if that changes anything. Otherwise, I'll go forward with an RMA.

I've had the asus 27" 2560x1440 144hz g-sync monitor that a month before my 2 year warranty ran out at microcenter went bad.. screen would twitch! Just like your talking about like a heart beat at 144hz while screen would slightly shake. At 100hz it would be fine.

Anyways.. they looked at it and confirmed it was bad and I walked out with the newest model "165hz". :)

I think I paid $80 for that extended warranty on the $800 dollar screen with my wife barking about it. Heh

    I'm like it's Asus! I don't ran a deal with asus if there's a prob a year from now!

    Good luck!

Hmmm. I changed the gpu driver to the latest 388.59 and I have not seen the pulsing since then. Text looks much better on everything; in game, Word, internet, etc. I"m wondering if it was a driver problem now.

I did call Asus and get an RMA, but they want it sent in to them which would leave me without a monitor and now I'm not even sure it's the monitor that was the problem.

You tell me: Am I seeing things? Here's a short vid of in game in BF1 Watch how the text flashes and disappears. The chat box was set to show all so the text should be constant.

This is what I'm seeing on the forum now. To me it looks like the background is kind of blinking or flashing at 144hz, it also does this at 120hz. Am I nuts or is anyone else seeing this too?

If it's better would think it was just a driver issue then.

Better? Subjective at this point. Did you look at the videos? Background flickering and flashing now instead of bulging text. IDK
