Can you say "19 PCIe slots"? Well that is what this mining motherboard from ASUS has.

Specs: AMD 1920X Threadripper, Samsung SM961 M.2, 64GB Corsair DDR4 memory (half kit of CMD128GX4M8B2800C14),  ASRock X399 Taichi Motherboard

....just have to find a CPU that can handle that many lanes... lol.

     - oh, never mind - "motherboard comes with a jaw-dropping eighteen PCI-Express gen 3.0 x1 slots, in addition to a PCI-Express gen 3.0 x16, taking full advantage of the 200-series platform's PCIe lane budget."

This looks like the kind of product that will end up hurting mining. Can you imagine a ton of miners using these? Profits would be great at the start but then things would settle down and it would just not be worth it pretty quickly.

Last I read, you can't even mine with 19 cards, I think the current limit is 16 cards? So when you buy this, you're hopping that 19 cards will be supported some day.

    Looks cool

However that MB then becomes a single point of failure for many mining GPUs --> better buy a spare

"Mining Expert"? The mining experts got into bitcoin 8 years ago, and own the blockchains. Buying into cybercurrency right now is a tech variant of MLM.

This motherboard has been out for at least a couple months now (that's how long I've had MINE).

12 "standard" cards + 7 "mining-specific" cards seems to be the current limit under Windows - LINUX there is at least one person claiming to have gotten 21 cards running (2 via the NVME M.2 interface).

The only real good point to this board is the ON-BOARD management for 3 power supplies - otherwise it's just a "if you run many many cards, one fail = lose LOTS of hashrate" thing.

On the other hand, it's not all THAT expensive, and certainly viable to build a good 9-12 card rig with.

I am no longer the friendly FAH competition - thank Vorsholk and his ABUSE of his Curecoin developer position for that.
I am still big on MOOing though!
