Gigabyte sees potential in 43-inch gaming market.

AORUS had a special launch event in Vietnam, where multiple products were shown such as motherboards, graphics cards, and monitors. The star of the show was the new 43-inch FV43U monitor that was presented by Gigabyte for the first time.

The AORUS FV43U is a 43-inch monitor with Quantum Dot technology (as cited by one of the sources). It features a 4K panel with a 144 Hz refresh rate. It is not confirmed whether this panel supports HDMI 2.1 though. The manufacturer confirmed that the 10-bit panel has 97% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Gamers should be delighted to know that this monitor has a peak brightness of 1000 nits. In fact, Vesa has already certified this monitor as DisplayHDR 1000.

Vietnamese sites also confirm it will have 1ms MPRT (moving picture response time). It should serve as a perfect companion for PC and next-gen consoles.

Some retailers in Asia have already begun taking preorders for this monitor. In Japan, it is expected to cost 168,000 JPY while in Vietnam it is now available for around 34,990,000 VND. This means that the monitor has a price tag of around 1,516 USD.

I have a small PC room so that monitor wouldn't work. 3440 x 1440 is the max I can tolerate.

I am wondering if we will really see monitors win out over TV's in this size range. For example the new Samsung and I think LG offer G-Sync and Freesync over HDMI 2.1 and offer sizes starting at I think 48" for about the same price but refresh is only 120hz.

I recently went from 42" to 50" in order to pickup FreeSync capability. I'd really prefer 42", but 50" works. Have to read the fine print in the specs in most modern 4k tvs, but most don't put FreeSync in to anything less than a 50" (which is annoying). I'm Vizio M-Series.

I know this thread is a few weeks old, but I do like where gigabyte is going with this. It seems the 39-54 inch monitor/tv space is pretty limited.  It kind of makes sense, 43 may be rather large as a monitor and dpi starts to suffer for monitor work....and nobody wants a tv less than 55 inches. But it would be nice to have more monitor/tv options in that in between range.

I feel like I'd have to set up the monitor across the room with these sizes. For those that have large screens like this, how far are you sitting from them? What's your setup like?

Will you be able to split the screen like some of the bigger curved monitors or will you still need 2 to have different programs up while gaming?

Price is more reasonable than I expected, but at this point, why not get an LG CX?

At 43", I don't think I'd ever call it a monitor lol. 32" is already excessive as is imo.
