It's been a great run with X58 & 32nm chips.  I'll definitely be jumping to AMD for Ryzen 2 3K series.  Whether for their Thread Ripper parts, if they come out, or for their mainstream.


I hear ya X has done tremendously well for almost a decade. But AMD is starting to shine brightly in my future.

I'm really hoping their benchmarks hold once 3rd parties get them.  I was thinking I'd do the 3900X, but.......depending on the benchmarks I briefly debated holding out until september for the 3950X.  I think the 3900X is a better mainstream gamer with some moderate multi-core use though than the 3950 since it has a higher base clock out of the box.  Guess we'll have to see.
