According to We PC, the following are the records that it made after being tested to evaluate its performance capabilities. Cinebench R15: Ryzen 9 3950X at 5434 points, besting the previous record of Intel Core’s i9-9960X with 5320 points. Under Cinebench R20 testing, the chip showed 12,167 points while the previous best was Intel Core i9-7960X with 10,895 points. Lastly, at Geekbench 4 test, the 3950X recorded 65,499 points versus Core i9-7960X’s 60,991points. The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X is said to be introduced to the market at $749, as per Tech Radar. This is a good price for a chip with record-breaking numbers under its name. While there is no specific date given yet, there are two predicted dates which are Sept. 7 and 9, but since it is already the 8th, then fans can look forward to the predicted Sept. 9 release. I know several modders who have been waiting for this.

I wish I bought some when I saw it ridiculously low, @ $1.50 per pre bitcoin boom.
We were eyeballing it around the $8 - $9 range and never pulled the trigger. What a shame. But I did make money flipping Nvidia when the stock tanked to $125.

I bought AMD low...
Anyway doesn't seem that impressive 16 core vs 16 core. With Intel's next release of HEDT supposedly beating AMD price to perf... IDK what to think.
But if the new HEDT 18 core and 16 core parts from Intel are priced comparably I struggle to find a reason for adopting a 3950x. Especially considering the pricing of any decent x570 MB and current state of x570 bios...

That is awesome that AMD Ryzen 3950X continues to break records. It only shows AMD dominance as affordable and performance processors. I chose AMD Phenom II X4 940 for the price and performance back in the day in 2009. It is what I am still running until I upgrade. I continue to watch AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors waiting until I upgrade.
