The last price update on current-gen GPUs from 3DCenter

3DCenter provide the last pricing update on RX 6000 and RTX 30 GPUs. Over the past few weeks GPU prices have gone back to MSRPs, and in many cases went even lower. The desktop GPU market situation has changed drastically due to cryptocurrency crash and a huge inventory of current-gen GPUs, which somehow make less of a deal just 2-3 months ahead of next-gen update. 3DCenter report that Radeon RX 6000 series are now 14% cheaper than MSRP in Germany and Austria, while GeForce RTX 30 series are at -9% respectively. That’s the lowest point that they have ever been since launch.

In many cases the average price is influenced by heavily discounted high-end parts. It’s a clear sign which cards are going to be replaced the soonest. The most interesting price drops can be seen on RX 6950XT and RTX 3090 Ti, both of which were released just a few months ago.

On average the price exaggeration may be lower for RTX 30 GPUs, but in many cases mid-range and low-end GPUs such as the RTX 3060 series and below are somehow still not available at MSRPs.  One might guess this is because those cards are not to be updated till January at least. The current plan for RTX 40 series only lists high-end GPUs, which is why the incentive to lower prices for the whole stack are much lower.

AMD Radeon RX 6950XT reference design can now be found for at ‘little’ as 999 EUR, which is around 858 USD after conversion. That’s a significant price reduction for this fairly new card (released in May) from German UVP (suggested retail price) of 1239 EUR.

This is the last update from 3DCenter on RX 6000/RTX 30 GPU prices. The man purpose of these reports was to show the GPU price inflation over MSRP, which is no longer the case. Hopefully such reports won’t be necessary for next-gen GPUs.

I suspect prices will slowly decrease until next gen GPUs are launched.
