AMD RX 6800 & RX 6800 XT Partner Cards Won't Hit MSRP Until Early 2021 | TechPowerUp The launch of the AMD RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT was plagued with a lack of availability and inflated prices. Retailers sold out of reference models almost immediately leading to price gouging and the launch of custom boards a week later did little to ease the situation. AMD has acknowledged the situation and is working with AIBs to achieve MSRP prices. In an unofficial comment to Hardware Unboxed, an AMD representative confirmed that they hoped to reach MSRP prices within 4 to 8 weeks for custom cards. The cards are currently selling for 100+ USD higher than their suggested retail prices at retailers across the globe so this news from AMD will be welcome for many. I really hope prices will decrease.

T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. AMD told me that cards will be available from your favorite brands in Q1 as they need time to design products and then get them into production

Problem was, plenty of 3080's were being sold at MSRPs despite the demand. With the 6800's that's not the case, cheapest ones around apparently start with a markup. Hardware Unboxed is pretty ticked off about it, and rightly so.
Have water, will cool.

The EVGA ICX cooler seems to be durable which very desirable. Many may use a given card for a long time depending on the games that are played. Lots of fantasy quest games run on a potato

Maybe one day, but K|NGP|N cards have always been the best of the best, so I doubt EVGA would consider it until AMD takes the GPU performance crown from nvidia.

And AMD wanted us to believe that they wouldn't have a "paper launch"

We haven't seen the 6900XT in real world benchmarks yet, and if the 6800 and 6800XT are any indicator, the 6900XT will not outperform the RTX 3090, and it will most certainly have abysmal ray-tracing performance in comparison. Trust me, I want AMD to light a fire under nvidia's ass just as much as anyone else, but as far as performance goes, it won't be this generation. Maybe AMD can beat nvidia on the supply chain side, but not in gaming performance, and they are definitely a few years behind touching nvidia on AI/ML performance.
