Reddit user RuthenicCookie seemed to know a lot more about Sony's plans for their popular game console for the next few years, as well as game titles supporting this current console generation and the next. As such, said redditor shared information saying that the current plans involve an 8-core Ryzen-based processor and an estimated console price point of $500. Sony may well share a teaser about the console next year, with retail availability expected in the holiday season 2020 (two years from now, thus). Developer kits are no doubt almost ready for this new console.

Yeah but 8 core will be the new 4 core in 2020.
(all jokes aside I think the current XB1X and next gen consoles are very appealing).
I guess they're thinking 4 cores for gaming and 4 cores for twitch/streaming?

Or just go ahead and throw together 2600x or 2700x....Probably can get it on sale.
Would be fun to play with anyways. Still not too bad a buy for 4.2-4.3ghz.
I don't know stuff that would rather like sheer clockspeed. but that end of the market people go through hardware left and right like I never seen the like lol

Nice, get that hardware Backwards compatibility with PS4 if thats true. Now all they need is 4k blu ray playback and Im sold. Im confused why the article says because dev kits are out now the final product wouldnt be zen2, first release of dev kits for consoles almost always are slower then the final product.

I'd tolerate console if it had keyboard and mouse gameplay. Controllers are trash. Anymore, consoles are just AMD x86 proprietary operating system PCs.

The article states how the CPU is a good choice for the PS5 to compete with Xbox One X. That is rather stupid considering it is a next gen console meaning it should compete against Microsoft's next gen console that they will probably put out a year after PS5 to ensure it performs better, just like PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Oh it's not even close though, naturally was all slacked more on the Processor.

whats not even close? both use the same 8 core jaguar cpu ps4 running it at 1.6ghz with gddr5 xbone running it at 1.75ghz with ddr3 and esram ps4 pro at 2.13ghz with gddr5 xbonex at 2.3ghz (lost the esram) with gddr5 same CPU, just clocked differently, no other significant differences. The gpus and a few other specialty items on the dies are where the real differences between the consoles are.
