In case you missed it, Jacob said in Twitch this morning that ALL new EVGA releases from now on will be available ONLY to Elite members for the first 24 hours (queue system), so that should help cut down scalpers eating all the stock. Good job EVGA.

The problem is that even if you have the money, you’re telling scalpers as well as the companies that make the products that you’ll pay way more than they’ve been charging. As a result, all of us should be expecting much higher prices even after this all settles down thanks to a bunch of idiots with more money than sense.

Very true however I think suppliers are hurting too not selling the normal amount of units as chips are delayed and not selling normal volumes, supply and demand means they will always sell less at higher prices and more at lower prices profit might be better if they keep prices reasonable I highly doubt they will be selling $800 graphics cards every year to mainstream gamers.

All you have to do is look at the prices for flagship cards over the years to see that they go up and don’t come back down. Companies have shareholders to answer to and the numbers speak for themselves - record profits. We are all in for a world of hurt which is why I want to snag a 3080-class card and sit out upgrades for 5 years or so.

I may not have elite yet... but this idea they had is another reason I have always bought EVGA, they treat their customers right. To bad non of my old GPUs qualify lol.

As I understand it, that is correct. After the first 24 hours are up, anyone can go on auto-notify.

As previously mentioned, EU customers are getting shafted badly. Questionable quality and no protection since the cards come from Taiwan, virtually no cards allocated to the EU queue, and all the shops sell the cards at least at double the price in the US.

So what then - buy the cheapest gpu just to survive this winter? I mean not like the queue is going to make any progress in another 6 months if the last 6 are any kind of evidence.

Considering the current market, using a parcel forwarding service and paying extra for shipping and taxes still comes out cheaper than buying anything around these parts.

Think the 100 forum post requirement to join doesn’t really help with increasing the quality of this board, but if it nets me at least a chance at a card at a reasonable price point, I’m gladly part of problem.
