Dear EVGA Community Members,
I am planning on connecting an old school Dell E196FP monitor with only a VGA input (manufactured in September 2006) to an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB ACX 2.0 (single fan) graphics card, product number 06G-P4-6161-KR (circa August 2016).
Those familiar with this graphics card would know that it only outputs digitally via a single HDMI 2.0b port or three DisplayPort 1.4 ports or a DVI-D port (digital only output).
Could anyone provide me with details of an ACTIVE adapter that:
1. Could convert HDMI 2.0b male port output to a VGA female port (note that many active adapters on the market currently only support HDMI 1.4 at the most); and
2. Could convert DisplayPort 1.4 male port output to a VGA female port (many such active adapters currently only support versions 1.1 and 1.2)?
3. For your answers to 1 and 2, please provide links as to where I could order or buy such active adapters. (For your info, I live in Sydney, Australia).
I don't want to order an active adapter on a site such as Amazon or eBay and then find it does not work for me.
Thank you in advance for your responses. I have asked EVGA Support about the above queries too, but they are yet to respond and perhaps they may have problems answering as EVGA do not manufacture or distribute active adapters. Also, let me know if a HDMI 1.4 active adapter or DisplayPort 1.1/1.2 active adapter has worked for you and indicate which brand and model.
