Well that's because it's very bright, and it can cook. Have to take the good with the bad dude.

Yeah wicked lasers makes super powerful products that look awesome. I remember seeing videos of the Torch Light when it first came out cooking eggs and making pitch black areas look like day light was out. They also make the world's brightest lasers. What is even cooler is they now have an attachment to put on the end of the lasers to make it look like a light saber. I've always wanted one but they are even more expensive then the Torch.

If were going to waste money. Why not go all out and pick up a Maelstrom XM18 15,000 Lumens. It will only set you back $2,400 but will light up mountains 400+ yards away.

I think I might do the same thing now that I just went to a new company and got a 37% increase in pay, my little treat to myself. And if I can afford it, I want the green Krypton laser with saber attachment.

How powerful of the Arctic do you think you will get?

If you guys want to buy a high powered laser you might want to do it soon. The government is looking to ban them in the US.  http://arstechnica.com/te...owered-laser-pointers/

I don't blame the government. Why do people have to kill it for everyone? What's the point of flashing the laser at an airplane?

I'd take $10,000 rather than laughing it off. I do however want to see how a laser looks from a pilots point of view.

Think I'll go all the way with 2mW, even though I'll cringe lol.
Kinda like an end of the year treat. I've been wanting one for 2 years lol I know I'm saving for a car for next year, besides everything I just spent on my new desk and watercooling loop. Think I'm done with the big purchases for awhile haha.

Ah thanks for reminding me they just released this, I just bought one. And as for the laser guys, my little brothers friend has the 500mW+ Green one and I was stupid enough to go "This thing isn't that bright" *points it in my eye* damn thing blinded me in my left eye for ~3 hours. I have the old version of the torch but the battery only lasted about 3 minutes before it would start to dim, then around 5 minutes was only about as bright as a normal flashlight then at 7 it was almost completely dead.

My little brother got one of those super high powered lasers that catches things on fire.... I looked at him and said why didn't you just buy a gun for a bit more money and be done with it bud hehehe. It is pretty cool, we only used to see that kind of stuff in Frankenstein type monstrosities just viewable online on videos and pics.  Now companies are turning it into a smaller product that anyone can buy.

I don't understand how that's politics, it is true the U.S government is trying to ban them since the guy blinded the chopper pilot permanently and almost made the chopper crash. It's completely undebatable. It's fact.

Ahhh, my addiction to flashlights.  Must turn away from the light.

I have gone through several generations of flashlight.  My favorites seems to be Maglites.  I've had the their first LED mini mags for quite a while till they introduced the MagTac lights.  I now find the brightness to be a bit overkill at 300+ lumens in close quarters, but can definitely light up the path when needed.

My favorite is Maglites as well. Have one here at my desk always.

I knew it was from wicked lasers lol. Think I'm going to get the arctic laser with saber from them at the end of the year :)

Can't understand why people put politics into a darn flashlight thread. Really starting to tick people off. Stay on topic. Thanks.

Someone talked about buying the laser and i all i did is let them know that the government is trying to ban them. That is far from bring politics into this thread.

    That's pretty much politics man

It's not politics just mentioning what the government wants to do. Now if i said why i agree or disagree with the government. That would be bring politics into it.

The Flashtorch (from wickedlasers) is huge for a so called Flashlight. If you look at the video you will see it's not something most people would even think about carrying around. The size and weight of it plus only having 40mins of battery life on low power. That makes it worthless for anything but a gimmick to burn stuff. The Flashtorch is a disaster waiting to happen. Just glad they don't sell it at giant retail stores like Walmart.

I quit buying Maglite after i found Fenix brand. Maglite is way behind other mfg when it comes to quality and lumens output. You should check out Fenix PD35 ($70) or Fenix E35EU ($45). Both flashlights will fit in your pocket. I own the PD35 and it's awesome. The strobe mode will mess up anyone night vision that comes near you.

If anyone does like the Fenix flashlight and wants to order one. Use this code before you checkout. Fenix 10% off discount code:APP10
