Hey, I registered for step up a few weeks ago. I was very close to the 14 day cut off for registration, but the website is allowing me to queue for the step up. Does this mean I’m good or will I have to buy the extended warranty? I purchased card on 8/18 and registered it on 9/1 so it’s 14 or 15 days depending on how you actually count the day. I’m guessing since it allowed me to queue that I’m okay, but would like confirmation. Also, I removed the thin protective plastic on my GPU before installation, does that need to be on the GPU when I send it back in? Sorry may be stupid question but I want to have all my bases covered.

You have to buy the extended warranty for the stepup program.

No, stop. If you registered at 14 days, you do NOT have to buy the extended warranty.

Register your qualifying 3 Year Warranty product purchased new from an authorized reseller within 14 days of your original purchase date.
    • If you should happen to miss your 14 day registration window on your qualifying 3 Year Warranty product then you may also purchase an extended warranty within 90 days of your original purchase date to enable the Step-Up option.
14 Days from August 18 is Sept 1.  If you registered on Sept 1, you should be good.

The extended warranty is nice to have if you keep your cards for more than 3 years.  If you do not, then it may be a waste of money.

Yea. That’s what I thought. I’ll probably just buy the warranty for the step up card as I don’t want to interrupt the process now. I appreciate the insight and the help counting days lol
