Hey all - I submitted a ticket but since it's the weekend I figured I'd ask here for help as well.

I've been having trouble lately with games crashing and DirectX errors.  I completely did a Windows 10 reinstall last week and it's been OK up until today.  Today I was playing a game of BF4 and out of no-where the computer bluescreened.  After it rebooted the computer sounded like it was ready to take-off and I found one of my GPUs fans were blowing at maximum.  I removed the cards from the machine and tested them one at a time.  My "primary" card seems to be working OK but the 2nd card is the one with the fan blowing at max.  As soon as I boot into windows I cannot start any games with the 2nd card... desktop works fine though.

Looking in Device Manager the card shows "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43).  I tried a DDU and complete driver reinstall with no luck.  Also tried installing a driver a couple releases older with the same trouble.  The whole time the fans do not slow down at all - normally they are silent unless gaming.

Any other thoughts / suggestions to try or should I just wait for support to reply?

Thanks!!

Did you use the same power cables on each card when testing each card individually? If yes, the card is done.

Yep I tried both sets of cables when testing the card - got the same result with both sets.

Kinda strange - since this was the "secondary" card in the setup it should have been getting less load when not gaming right?  My monitors are always hooked to the other card.

Sounds indeed like the card is having issues. But you could always try the card in another computer to further verify for the hec of it.

Was kinda surprised but I heard back from support over the weekend.  It's on it's way to EVGA now - they said a Code 43 generally means a hardware fault with the card.

Hello ..... I am from Uruguay (South America) sorry for my English (use translator) ..... error 43 can be solved with a flash of the bios of the vga .... I have recovered several vga without problems ...from look for the bios of your board ... the downloads and then with the nvflash ( ) it is reinstalled ..... (it enters to Windows with the vga onboard and to test of failures)....

goolle it up and review the ''fixes'' that's suggested   and test the card under a real OS  to see how it then behaves

a malware service called   windows 10 ...lol...    have you tried the card under a OS?   seems since 10 nvdia now struggles with things   [opinion]
