Hello guys,  It looks as if I am confused on what's considered a reference card. I have the 980 ACX base card. I am a folder and I am trying to quiet the fans down, by going to an AIO cooler. I am folding on the 980 [no-ti 2981], and also a 1060 6Gb. Both run in low 60's folding, BUT the 980 fans run in the 3500 and above. While the 1060 runs in the 2000 range. Quite a lot of difference in fan volume. Pausing the cards one at a time, the 1060 is pleasantly quiet. Not so much on the 980.
 
Can I use the Corsair HG10 bracket or NZXT G10 on the 980? If I can, do I have to use the coolers that have the round pump? Thanks for any and all help.

    ACX is not reference AFAIK. The NZXT probably has a better chance of working.

    Acx cooler = non reference cooler.
    Blower style cooler = reference cooler.
     
    The card can still be based on reference design enough though it uses an acx cooler. 
     
    This bracket will work with your card just fine.
