You mean you installed new ram? Look up the part number of your ram and it should list the timings. The timings should also be listed on the sides of the ram itself.

Need to know what CPU you have, exactly what RAM you have (make and part number) and how many modules, what mobo BIOS version is installed, as well as your other system hardware such as power supply and the drives and video card(s)..Are you running default BIOS settings or attempting to overclock?

I would like to overclock a little to get better performance if I could, computer froze from time to time with old hard drives and just recently added new case with 5 fans and now computer doesn't seem to perform the same. but at least it doesn't freeze up it now just shuts off randomly. never shut off before.

Do you have the RAM timing and voltage specs on that 1333Mhz PNY stuff?..Only thing I can find right now it the 9-9-9-24 timing.

Is there maybe some affordable yet recommended ram that might be a little better.

Try the Ram at 11-11-11-28-2T and see how it rolls..Where did you find the 1.5V spec for the RAM and why is it at 1.7V in BIOS?..Is the 1.7V on Auto or manually set?

ok will do. I looked it up and this is the voltage the site gives and  I'm not sure why its set at 1.7 I believe its manual set should I put it to 1.5

Yeah, lock it in at 1.5 volts if that's the spec and try it..Might want to clear CMOS to put everything back to default settings, try it, then start tweaking settings manually from there if you still have problems..Exactly what RAM were you using before?..Also, the NVIDIA SATA drivers for that board sometimes caused freezing, see post #3 here..What OS are you running, btw?
